As reported on the other board. Flynn has been invited to participate in the trials for the USA Junior National team. This will help him, and he will gain valuable experience during the try outs. Also a quiet testimony for Kent s recruiting him as a very good basketball player.

I see where the village idiot on the other board is denigrating s Flynn s ability again. Evidently other basketball minds think enough of him to invite him to the trials. He is a fine talent whose freshman play dropped off at the end. While his physical ability may not be up to the one and done talents ,he is a very good basketball player. He has the ability to run a team and many other top physical talents do not have that ability.

Flynn isn't a Lonzo Ball or Markelle Fultz type talent but he has a lot more value to WSU than either of those players. He was able to hold his own against both and actually outplayed Fultz especially in the clutch. Flynn is the type of player we should want a lot more of and can definitely win with in Pullman. He's a great fit for what we need to compete, grow the program, and win.

I use to agree a lot with the un named guy on the other board. He clearly doesn't like Kent but wont admit it. I liked Bone but recognize that he didn't project the high energy approach necessary to recruit enough good players to Pullman. Kent is doing better, but it doesn't happen over night.

It is one thing to not like Kent but another to knock Flynn. This guy is a baller,a gym rat,who has leadership abilities. Flynn will flourish this year as the players speed things up offensively and will have another guard to man the point at times. The players give 100 % and deserve the support. I believe that the victories will come this year.

My major disagreement is the impact of support and facilities. Agree our support/facilities are lacking but not that it creates an impossible task. A coach still has to overcome the challenge 'Pullman' presents in terms of recruiting.

Perhaps this will be the year? The team will have a lot of first year D 1 players. But they will be far more athletic and may attract more fans.

I agree. Athleticism has been increasing each year. 2016 was one if those perfect storm situations. A whole bunch of new guys, and none of our returning upper class men became the kind of vocal floor leader necessary to build any cohesion. Last season you could argue that Flynn was primarily responsible for the improvement. It was pretty clear by the start of conference that he was not only a real good player, had assumed a leadership role, lacking the prior seasin

The pressure seemed to get to him later in the season. I think that he will be to better cope with that kind of pressure

Looked like he lost his legs to me. He started missing open shots in bunches that he was consistently dropping. They started to rest him more during games but he seemed to have simply reached the point of burnout. Hopefully the experience helps him next year. I think he comes back stronger.

I agree,he will come back stronger. The fact that Acquah is eligible will take a lot of the pressure off Flynn and allow him to be rested during games and the season

Pressure, and he wore down in the legs a bit like a lot of frosh do.

I think this had a lot to do with it. He played more games and more minutes than he has ever played before. Flynn will get stronger and be better able to handle the rigors of conference play.

Even the vaunted #1 pick faded last year as a Frosh. At least Flynn finished up the season.
