Leach has listened to Bob and Ed, and is coaching the guys about when in a football game you should quit trying. They need to know that.

Who needs to know what and when?
According to you, Leach needs to teach guys to quit trying if they're up a few scores, because if you don't quit, how will the other team know they should- you know, your Colorado argument.

Good God you are clueless about the game of football.

Of all people, you can't call anyone's football knowledge into question. Your brain and typing fingers don't coordinate, ever, so you end up saying something ten times dumber then what you would have said if you had more than a fourth grade vocabulary, then when people make you look dumb, you insult people like a child. Very "Flat Earth Society".

I don't think it is about "coaching" for Bob and Ed. Yes, they think that some adjustments should be made, but who doesn't? Most, if not all, believe that Leach is a good football coach. I think they would agree that Leach is a much better coach than Wulff. Leach's problems have been in early February. His first recruiting two classes appear to be as bad as the recruiting gurus projected, maybe worst. While it is too early to tell with respect to class 3, the spring game offered little reason for optimism that we are recruiting the talent necessary to turn the corner.

While Ed and Bob have clearly deluded themselves regarding the "talent" Wulff recruited, they are simply challenging the delusion of the leeches that there has been a shift in recruiting from bottom rung to Pac-12 calibre now. Are their motives pure? Probably not. Their fascination with Wulff is strange, but their is analysis of the current situation isn't a fantasy. It is based on the practical reality that virtually everyone agrees year 4 of the Leach reign will be another rebuilding year.

A few days ago, I posted some information regarding the Volleyball team regarding recruiting. The volleyball coaches have done an outstanding job recruiting the last few years including a top 15 class and a top 25 class. The last three years, the average team recruiting rankings is 17th. 17th, that is incredible.

Jen Greeny is going into her 4th year as head coach. That is similar to Coach Leach. You know what? Her seasons have played out just like Coach Leach as well. Bad first year, decent second year, and horrible third year. Remember, the team has recruited very, very well. Still, the team is not winning and coming off it's worse record.

It really is not surprising. Dick Bennett said it best when he was here. He said that the third year is always the hardest. You begin to have your players, but they are too young physically and too inexperienced to win. We all know what happened to the basketball program. Do I believe that Volleyball will turn the corner? Yes. Do I believe that football will turn the corner? Yes. We have already seen this play out close up.

'90, I think this is one of your best all time posts. Good summary. And I agree with your logic & predictions.

By no means am I the internet police, but ffs wulffui - just posting a thread to be a dick and start some sh!t on the board? Slow day at the office? Kids acting up?

I mean, I get that these threads devolve into the typical bullsh!t pissing match between factions, but to just go ahead and skip the fomalities? Is that where this board is now? BX has become the more sane of the two boards?

I'm not asking for much, but can we at least start the threads on a civil note? I really don't care about the sniping, but I do care about this board and it being the place I come to for adult CFB discussion. Starting threads for no other reason than pissing match is just bush league, and although its not by much I did think we were above that.

I agree with pretty much everything you said..except for my fascination with Wulff. I thought firing him was a good move. Said many times Sturdy's playcalling drove me nuts..especially in the 2011 Apple Cup.

I just simply defend him, as I would anyone, against moronic accusations such as he ruined Gibson etc.

It begs the question: what were/ are the recruiting expectations for the team? I doubt we will ever be better than middle of the P12 for recruiting at best, but that doesn't speak to the real issue that is going in Pullman: the lack of improvement from the recruits that we do land.

Price's recruits for the most part saw incremental improvement year after year from the time they were freshmen until they were seniors. I don't feel like we are building athletes anymore- we are stuck in the Wulff mode of "4 star or bust, and if you can't play we aren't going to teach you."

Lest anyone forget, Rien Long was 150lbs soaking wet when he arrived on campus and matured both physically and mentally over the three years he was on campus. I would love to see more of the player development that we saw mid 90's to mid 2000's

Whatever. Terribly sorry I don't meet your standards for quality discussion. It's way better when it becomes a pissing match organically. But I do respect your ability to think I was wrong in my action and express it how you see fit, without slinging hyperbole about your chosen expression.

The recruits we have now are having the standard incremental improvements that come with physical maturity as they progress, and that hadn't happened for a while. It will help a lot. Had to play a lot of freshman last year too, so that should allow for seeing the improvement happen this year.

The thing that WSU fans have to embrace is that our future "success" is going to be more Oregon State than Oregon and we need to adjust our mindset accordingly. Oregon State finished with 7+ wins in 8 out of Riley's 12 years. They finished with 9+ wins 4 times in 12 years. If we make it to bowl games 2/3rds of the time and have a really good team in half of those years.......we should be thrilled. We are unlikely to recruit to the point where we are better than that. The truth is that it would be a hell of a lot of fun to finish with 9+ wins, even if it's only once every few years. I miss those days.

Agreed but even if our ceiling is higher than your analogy of OSU… we have to crawl before we walk. And IMHO, there are some that have higher expectations than "crawling".
