MBB & WBB Coaches extended

Chun is trying to change the subject from the mess he created with the football program.

Glad to see an extension but Kamie's going to need patience. We just aren't able to recruit like other Pac 12 programs. She's who I think we need though. Wants players that are tough, high IQ, defend, and shoot 3s. That's a good combination for us.

Smith has absolutely killed it in every single recruiting pool (high school, international, transfer, etc.). If we get over the hump this year we could go on a nice run.

Wish we could get the funds together for charters and a BOB.

On the latter, I'm hopeful we'll see increased attendance at games as we did with the Bennetts. In my view the latter BOB should be the highest priority for those increased funds.

I believe charters and facilities can only draw from the private donations bucket. We need a big donor or multiple small but "big" donors to get a basketball ops building done. Santa Clara had 2 donations totaling $25 million for their facility. Houston had a $20 million donation from 1 donor and a bunch of "smaller" donation for their $50-ish million basketball facility.

It will take someone earmarking funds to a facility to jump over some of the other projects the BoR has prioritized ahead of hoops. My lotto thing was a joke but I think it's going to take someone coming to the table with a significant gift for it to take place. I believe that's part of the reason the baseball facilities "jumped the line".

I agree and think you're probably right on all counts. If soccer and baseball can find the donations for their facilities a good basketball program surely should be able to. If Smith can grow the basketball program similar to something the Bennetts did finding adequate donations would become more probable and possible.
