MBK: Cougs-Oregon Preview (Story + Smith Presser)

Gutsy win. Not a work of art, and Oregon is hurting health and conditioning wise. But it's still a win. Noah has to learn to keep his mouth shut, or shut it before the T comes. Love his grit but there may be a game where he gets T'd up and we lose by one. He'll soon get a rep, if he hasn't already, and the refs will have him on a short leash.

Noah definitely has a rep at this point.

Good job grinding out the win tonight. I'll never shed a tear for Oregon.

Nice win and another first for cougar basketball under coach Smith beating Oregon in their arena!

A coupl'a things struck me about this game: (1). Our bigs, as freshmen, are better than Altman's five star frosh and (2). the team is better coached on defensive fundamentals, i.e. as in positioning and moving their feet as opposed to swarming and clubbing the opponent into submission. On another, side note, what a clown show Altman puts on with his mask. Makes a mockery of it and is a poor role model for his team, student body and citizenry as a whole.

Altman put on a show up and down the sideline all night. Frequently wandering well past the supposed restraining lines and even onto the court. I hope the cardboard cut-outs enjoyed it. Meanwhile, Noah gets another T for some comment he must have made after surviving a bumping contest with an Oregon player. Noah does need to learn to control his comments but there is no doubt in my mind that the refs are on the alert to T him up every chance he gives them.

Smith wisely removed Noah from the game immediately after the T. Sat him out for a few minutes as I have no doubt the refs would've been watching him like a hawk just ready to pounce on any comment or action by Noah.

Glad Cougar
