Just got home from the game and Cougar Country. What a terrible effort. Horribly coached and played. They must have back-doored us 25 times and when they weren't doing that they were throwing over us. How many times can that be done until someone (players or coaches) figure it out? I'm hoping we can beat Santa Clara or Sac State to get one more win this year. I'm pretty disheartened by the effort, or lack thereof. I'm beginning to think Ernie is like June. He has to have superior talent to win.

Hopefully Cougar Country was enough to get rid of the bitter taste of that game.

We just cant get any defensive effort for two games in a row. I didnt think Ernie got all he could out of last years group and hoped it was an aberration after a reasonable year one. Unfortunately some of the same things are rearing their heads this season.

I'm being overly simplistic but the issue is coaching and talent.

I did not see the game, but a few film clips show a poor defensive effort with players not hustling to cover their men.One needs a consistent effort to play good defense.I wonder how Flynn looked? He was 0-5 from 3 pt range. Did the opposing PG outplay him and disrupt the offense?

I watched the second half. It was the porous defense that really stood out. By the 15 minute mark it was obvious we couldnt get any stops and were not hitting the boatds. Even though the score never got out of range until the last few minutes I could see we were not going to mske a charge. It was almost an identical replay of the SJS game.

A big part of defense is hustle and team work. I cannot see why a player does not give 100 % while on the court.I also cannot see why EK places so much trust and responsibility on Ike. he should be a role player and defense should be his forte. When he tries to create offense he does jus not have the ability to run an offense or create shots for his teammates.
