I read something in the Oregonian this morning that made me have to look it and confirm. WSU is more than a hundred spots below the next Pac-12 school in RPI (Arizona State). Currently, the Cougars sit at #201 in between a couple of the service academies, Army and Air Force, and behind such programs as Texas Southern, South Dakota, and New Jersey Institute of Technology. Of the power 5 conferences, only Rutgers, Boston College, Minnesota, and St. Johns are behind the Cougars. The only thing really keeping this team from having a worse RPI is that is plays in a really tough conference, but there appears to be a huge gap between WSU in the other Pac-12 teams.

Ernie's got his work cut out for him.
