As much as i hate to do this. I will refer to the brand x site. There is an article there on the closed scrimmage. Montana won 52-50 and most of the article consists of Ernie Kent s quotes. So No insight from brand x or stats from the scrimmage.However it sounds pretty much like i said it probably went. It is an OK read .Sorry but info has been lacking.

Kent played different combinations. Perhaps Montana also did just to see who can complement the returnees. Even so, the score surprised me. We were close.
It should not have surprised anyone. If the two teams were to meet again this season the cougs would win.The cougs will get better overall play at all positions this year.If that happens the cougs may even surprise PAC 12 competition.
Let's hope we surprise. At least they seem to be placing some focus on defense and that can't hurt. I would expect us to win but it's just a scrimmage.

That has to a first someone wanting an exhibition basketball game to be televised. Signs of support and progress ?
I always want to see what we got early even if it's a meaningless game. Only Live Stats for both the men and women's exhibition game.

I would consider going to the exhibition game if it was a better team. It looks like their tallest player is 6-5 and they only have one of those. They have already played several games this year and haven’t won any. I really want to see the new guys play so I can make my own evaluations and get a better idea who’s who but this will be nothing but a blood bath and not worth the time.
I saw a post on brand X which says that the correct score was 78-76. That is a big difference in how to view the scrimmage,
Not sure I view the scrimmage any differently. I actually thought the reported 52-50 score seemed a bit odd, but had no reason to doubt it. Interesting that a GU "closed" scrimmage held in Minneapolis could generate 2 articles in the SR with significant details short of complete box score. Yet we have trouble even getting a correct score from the Coug scrimmage.
One wonders how a team with supposedly many great three point shooters can only score 50 pts in a scrimmage ? The griz s strength is supposedly in their guard play and only102 points scored was strange.That type of score usually means a deliberate attempt to play ugly ball.
