New bill proposed to keep UW/WSU together.

Good find Patrol.

Sounds like this bill could be gaining momentum.

For the political experts here, would this primarily be a liberal (government's duty is to provide oversight and direction) vs. conservative (small government, less regulation) movement?
Doesn’t matter, it won’t make it through. Too many UW sycophants in Olympia. They’ll get sold a story about how much more money UW would get in another conference, and they’ll kill it.

Of course, no other conference has actually expressed interest in UW anyway. The Big 10 said outright that them and UO don’t bring enough to the table to be worthwhile.

I doubt the bill will go anywhere, but WSU should absolutely support and fight for it. Worse case scenario is we're handed an annual revenue share of several million/year.

If we're going to be relegated to the Mountain West or what's left of the P10, having UW and their new conference pay us $5M/year will help us secure one of the better coaching staffs in the new league.

There's no time like the present to use progressive socialist ideology to our advantage.
