Can't they shoot the goddam things down? That would get the Feds attention. Probably way too high for a 12 gauge unless they send up a cropduster with a shooter in the back seat.

Did you know that in the early days of WWI, the opposing pilots first waved at each other on the way by, then started throwing things, then started shooting at each other, then finally put machine guns on the planes? Early versions had deflectors on the propellers so the bullets wouldn't shred their own planes. Then they figured out how to synchronize the bullets with the prop rotations.
