I was listening to a classic rock station yesterday while driving down the road yesterday, and heard a song I hadn't heard in a long time, but I immediately remember the title, I though oh my god this has become the new Coug theme song, but I certainly hope not. I wasn't exactly sure when it was released, I knew is was the 70's, so I looked it up, and for all you youngsters out there this song was released in 1971, yes 50 years ago. Name of the group- Led Zeppelin, name of the song "When the Levee Breaks", here is a little history on the lyrics

"When the Levee Breaks" is a country blues song written and first recorded by Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie in 1929. The lyrics reflect experiences during the upheaval caused by the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927.

"When the Levee Breaks" was re-worked by English rock group Led Zeppelin as the last song on their untitled fourth album. Singer Robert Plant used many of the original lyrics and the songwriting is credited to Memphis Minnie and the individual members of Led Zeppelin.[1] Many other artists have performed and recorded versions of the song.

I'm probably one of the younger guns here. I'm more of a Houses of the Holy fella but do love this song. Great use at the end of the film The Big Short.

Thanks for sharing the fun facts, didn't know the full backstory.
