When we first starting talking NIL deals, I mentioned at the time, look out for the women, some will make more at this than most men will. Many here scoffed at the idea, but here is a local girl from Cashmere, that is now a sophomore at Louisville. She is making some serious money. Her total income is now projected to be over 1 million by the time she is done with college. She's making more than many WNBA players

When fashion and make up and modeling get involved… look out. Do these women have the demographic of followers that will put eyes on their products??? Get paid.

Hailey is a very attractive young woman who is/will clean up regarding NIL. In high school, she was mentored by Kobe; she trained at Bryant's Mamba Sports Academy in SoCal. Wish she was a coug!

Haley and Hanna Cavinder are twin basketball players at Fresno State that are now in the portal. They have turned their TikTok fame into NIL deals estimated at over $1 million and ownership deals.

Cavinder twins or Lia Thomas? Hmm....who is probably going to score more NIL money?

Dare I say that these few women are by far the exception to the rule?

I'm not so sure. The Cavinder twins aren't even all that good of hoops players, yet they have something like 3 million followers on social media. The whole social media influencer thing is a bit of a different animal. Its possible female athletes have greater motivation to try to monetize those markets because the "golden egg" type deals of the NFL, NBA, etc. really isn't out there for women yet.

Social media takes creativity, a lot of work, and hustle. Is your average 5-star football or basketball player up for that kind of sweat equity?

It is a very interesting niche market at the moment. Caitlyn Clark, the Iowa star also has a deal worth over 1 million for a local supermarket chain. She is pretty and a great player and basically the biggest star at the University of Iowa, with no professional sports to compete with.

It is very early days for the NIL. These players are smart to take the money and run. Going forward I predict there will be a ceiling to how many pretty college athletes the market will support. The current players will keep some fans and new players will arrive every year and attract new fans, but the pie won't grow beyond a certain point so the pieces will have to get smaller, IMO.

Hailey is also beautiful...so that helps. 😀

Well it is nice to see that your "beauty take" extends to someone in the LGBTQ community.
Ed...beauty is beauty. I'm not like some ideologues who show contempt for women. You know, those who support allowing trannys to compete with biological women. Very unfair and unnecessary.

Lots of things in life are “unfair”. Lots of things in life are unnecessary as well .

But some of the unfair things need not continue because they don't make any sense. Trannys can have their own competition category. It is grossly unfair and immoral to allow a biological male to compete with a biological female. Those who just claim "life is unfair" in this situation show their contempt for women. It is despicable.

Edit: Excellent quote from Elon Musk capturing wokeness and leftism nearly perfectly...

"At its heart, wokeness is divisive, exclusionary, and hateful. It basically gives mean people a shield to be mean and cruel, armored in false virtue."
