Im thinking two of the last three and one win in the PAC 12 tourney would give us a chance at an NIT bid. Anything beyond that and I think we're in. Thoughts?

I do not think it will happen The cougs can beat udub but little chance on the road against USC and UCLA. My question is if a below .500 team is eligible for a NIT bid?

Believe you need to be .500 and it's now also RPI driven (or whatever the metric is these days) beyond the automatic entrants. We probably have a better shot of winning out and getting the Pac 12 automatic bid than getting in the NIT.

I don't know what other factors outside of W-L the NIT and CBI look at, but if quality wins are considered, WSU comes up on the short end. We didn't beat anyone of consequence in non-conference play and our wins in the Pac-12 are against ASU (2), UW, OSU, and Colorado. So probably the Buffs were the best win and they were winless at that point in conference play. I just don't think the resume is good enough for post season play unless they can beat USC or UCLA on the road and pick up a conference tournament win.

Glad Cougar

According to Wikipedia a 500 record is not a requirement anymore, however no team with a sub 500 record has gotten in since the rule change in 2006. Looks like a hard road but at least we still have hope. I didn't think we would even have hope st this point.

Cougs will win the Pac-12 tourney. Now, excuse me. I need to go feed my unicorn...

CBI use to be a buy in thing. The year we got in and finished second to Pitt we were barely 500 even with a 4-2record in CBI.
