That was a great drive, even with the misses. He checked to run at the right times and made the hot read on the blitz. How about some credit where due?

Despite the last TD, overall it's been a good first half.

No way were the Cougs going to shut out the Trojans so it's up to WSU to keep the pressure on offensively.
Need to get a score (3 or 7) to start the 2nd half. Make it a two score game again.
Hopefully Watson is not out of the game as they need him in the secondary.

By rights this game should be 24-3. Cougs better bring the same energy in the second half or this could go south fast

Look, WSU only gets so many shots to beat USC. They came into Pullman sleepwalking and their QB got knocked out of the game, with a brand new interim coach. Not cashing in on this one would hurt, and there was a solid chance to really put this game in a safe place about 20 minutes into it. That's gone now.
If you are going to play "coverage" against a true freshman QB, you protect the easy throws - to the outside, coverage-wise, which is what we did. But if you are playing a freshman QB, pressure is the name of the game> Making him make quick decisions, hopefully bad ones, which we didn't do. "Sell out" defense baby -- shake. rattle and roll.

We had a nice first half. Sorry we didn't score 28 against USC.
