Ohio St. cancels home and home with...

UW.

And they do it to give themselves an 8th home game in 2024.

Probably should get used to this. The Big 10 and SEC will see no reason to travel or to play quality opponents in non-conference. They'll say that their conference schedule is tough enough, and they'll be lining up lesser opponents - most of them at home - for 3-4 guaranteed wins every season.

And - while I think this is secondary - if the remaining Pac-12 teams aren't able to line up games against the Big 10 and SEC...maybe that puts some pressure on them to defect for a smaller share.

Record padding to get into Championship game. This is why I do not care for the SEC. Now others following suit. Don’t know how much longer I can tolerate NCAA football. Will see where the NIL is in a couple of years, but my patience is wearing thin

This is like a boxer who only will fight tomato cans to stay undefeated so he gets a title shot. Can’t afford an early season loss if you want to stay at the top of the b c s ratings.

tOSU felt they had nothing to gain by playing UW.

That must be hard to accept for the Green River crowd.

Ohio State flat out didn't want to play that series as they didn't want to see a loss to the Pac-12 is how I see it.

The conference is trying to pad their way into the playoffs and if they play the Pac-12, and lose, the quality of their wins goes down.

Lame. Glad Wisconsin held up
Their end of the bargain w us. We have some friends who moved out here from Wisconsin and haven’t been to Pullman for a game of course. Going to be a great time for all, win or lose, that’s what CFB should be about for the fans.

If I’m an osu fan who’s never been to the PNW I’d rather take that trip than watch another 69-7 game from the same seat at the horseshoe against Illinois tech. (Insert Seattle jokes here…)

Ohio jokes are pretty easy to make as well.

What kills me is the Big-10 lured USC and UCLA away with their big TV contracts - but still have to have an 8th home game to pay the bills?

And uw - Weber State and E. Michigan in 2024 and Colorado State and UC-Davis (they actually have a FB team?) in 2025. What a pussy schedule.

Ohio State paying their way out of the UW game in Seattle has nothing to do with paying the bills. They just didn't feel like playing on the road against a team that might be dangerous and they have the money to walk away.

Come on guys, crank up the conspiracy theories. Washington will be in the BIG for the 2024 season. Ohio St. needs to find another non-con game. They will be reimbursed by the conference. Why would they cancel a game against a big, legit program, that they can beat the living hell out of. Okay, tear this up.
