That unicorn died in about 2005....or whenever the first really big TV money contract hit escalating the arms race.

Bill Doba was "humanely released" 48 hours after winning the Apple Cup and had won 3 of previous 4 and finished with a winning record in Apple Cup.

and it might be refreshing to have a modified offense. USC passed the ball 196 less times that WSU and were still the 7th highest pass happy team in the nation. Tired of 3 incompletions and then turning over the ball over when it was 1st and 4 yards for a TD.
