An ass kicking is an ass kicking The players need to lay with intensity for the full 40 minutes Pollard not getting a rebound in 18 minutes of play is inexcusable.
I wasn't able to watch most of the game until today. We did try to play the perimeter really tight and I'm not sure why? Maybe we gave their perimeter players too much respect although Tinkle and the Thompson brothers have killed us over the years. I thought Cannon would start and get more minutes overall to try and help against their backcourt length with the Thompson brothers.
We leak a ton of points. Obviously the defensive issues but it doesn't end there. We were out rebounded 39-24, missed a lot of open shots (most not bad looks) that led to easy layups on the other end, and also the all unforced turnovers. There was a point in the second half with 12:30 to go where we cut the lead to 9. Next 4 possessions we end up with 2 straight bad turnovers and then 2 straight bad 3s where we could have cut further into their lead.
We weren't going to win this game but we could have made it a much closer game if there was some attention to detail we obviously don't possess on both ends of the court.
