I did not stay up to see the game, but it sure sounds like the Huskies got bailed out twice by the officials vs. OSU. In the 4th quarter, OSU had a 3rd and 1 inside the UW 5 yard line and appeared (according to many who saw the game) to make the first down only to have the ref spot the ball short. Same thing happened at 4th and 1. Huskies hold on downs and win the game by 6. Two bad spots may have cost OSU a victory. Maybe it's sour grapes for Beaver fans but we may not have heard the last of it. Lucky Huskies.

I saw the last one on 4th down...it was abysmal, Jefferson made the line to gain by a foot, at least.

yeah that was garbage. He easily made the first down.

Also every time they brought in Mike Perera(sp) he disagreed with the call on the field and/or replay

Maybe Vegas really has paid off the officials. Hard to believe, for a lot of reasons, but unless they clean up their act it will further encourage the conspiracy theorists.

How many times does it have to happen before it’s investigated? It happened in the NBA...
Back in the day, I used to always say...."The NBA Playoffs are rigged". They are destined to go 7 games. Too much money left on the table if they don't. Concessions, parking, tickets sales, and TV advertising revenue. If you notice, they almost always go the max of 7 games. $$$$

Watched the replay today and saw this. That 4th down spot truly was absurd. Between that and some of the absurdity we have seen with some of our targeting non-calls against the conference "standard-bearers" the past couple years, among various others, it's getting harder to have faith these guys aren't paid off or, at least, either told or otherwise influenced to push things in the direction of certain teams. These refs are paid little by the conference, and tens of millions of dollars are on the line for conferences, schools, and individuals (coaches, ADs, conference execs, etc.) for certain schools to make it into the playoff and otherwise perform, in addition to whatever motivations gamblers may have on a game-in, game-out basis.

What pisses me off about this, and certain other things going on in our world, is how it doesn't seem to matter. People complain on social media about it, maybe there's an article in traditional media on occasion, but nothing is done.

I saw the spot and immediately said to my wife, that call was made for the team that is SUPPOSED to win. Wasn’t even that close... the Beavs got screwed big time. I’m sick of the advantages the USC’s, Oregon’s and uw’s always seem to get!

It was definitely hard to see- very low production value and mainly just the camera on the top of the press box like a high school game. However, the announcers were very confident it was a first. It wasn't reviewed, and it was a hard spot to review. Even still the Beavers almost won and there wasn't much difference between the two teams. Its hard to know if there is a "home field advantage" anymore. You definitely do feel like the PAC12 has a bias towards the team that is favored, possibly in a desperate (futile) attempt to stay relevant in college football, as if we were somehow going to get into the playoffs.

Wow...that is a terrible spot. It appeared that all but his foot was passed the first down marker at the 4 yard line. Really surprised the Beaver sideline didn't go bonkers over this. At least they didn't show it in the clip above. Perhaps these Refs learned from the guys who did the Matt Kegel backward pass from the early 2000s. 😮

Ping, to use Lake's name and the words "class act" in the same sentence invites karmic intervention. Cross your fingers and apologize...

😇

Obviously was being facetious. Normally a seasoned coach that gets a break like that from an official's call does not jump around like he did . He looked like he wanted to go out and high five the ref.

Yeah something needs to be done here. That is just blatant.

I am curious as to why Oregon State didn't challenge the spot.

You are, of course correct. But I sure enjoyed Akey jumping around like a lunatic in ‘03 😁.

Let him. UW looked like shit. They had several breaks and still almost lost. I got a very 2005 vibe watching that UW team on Saturday. They are going to be mediocre at best. Just hope Rolo can put it together and stick it to them before they find a real coach again.

UW's arrogance makes it impossible for them to admit to a mistake. Jimmy will be there for years, driving them to mediocrity. Should be interesting to watch....
