Could anyone have predicted that situation would be such a trainwreck? If he wasn't such a narcissist I'd be concerned for his personal safety because that dude is seriously messed up. Kicking the kicker in the leg? Seriously? "Freelance Pub Proctologist"? Reminds me of when Ricky Williams went off the rails.

Unfortunately I think we'll end up seeing him again in college football. Someone will no doubt roll out the checkbook, of course.

He should have stayed on TV, made money on the Jacksonville, reputation took a huge hit. I assume some college will attempt to hire him in the future.

Just amazing. He went from being on the Mount Rushmore of recent-era college coaches to a joke. As an aside, I remember him running some kind of clinic and talking about how he admired some of what Leach did, but said something like "well, that guy is a little bit, uh, different," or something like that, to chuckles from the crowd. I think even Leach could have lasted longer in the NFL than Urbs did.

I think Meyer will get a shot if we wants one.

He has enough of a track-record, and the seeming respect of former players, to vouch from him.

I personally think some of what's being report is being done so out of context in today's "cancel culture."

I also don't know if Gruden got a fair shake by the NFL. Did his emails paint a good picture of him? No. Is it possible he wasn't being serious or thought the matter was private? Yes. Just think, all his private emails got leaked to the media. Did the NFL need to do that?

To me, it's starting to feel like the NFL doesn't want any PR concerns on its hands. With the media reports about Meyer on his coaches and now this. Seems to be that the NFL is very thin-skinned and might be trying to over compensate for something else.

In order:
  • of course
  • maybe, there may be some skeletons ready to pop out of the closet
  • again maybe, time will tell if more people step up.
  • fair shake? He got what he deserved for the emails he sent, the question is - Why the hell did JG end up being the whipping boy for an investigation into Dan Snyder? And there still hasn't been any repercussions for the WFT organization for known harassment. (fwiw, I don't think anything he typed was as egregious to warrant becoming a pariah - he should have gotten "sensitivity training" and a fine, maybe. But someone had to be thrown to the wolves, and apparently its not going to be Dan Snyder.)
  • PROTECT THE SHIELD. AT ALL COSTS.
  • Goddell is a god damn coward.

By fair shake, why AIR him out publicly? I'm not saying it was right. How it was handled, by the NFL, is my curiosity. And yes, why is Snyder essentially getting nothing for the environment he created in the workplace.

If I am being cynical, I think Gruden got the fall, Synder got the hand slap.

Cynical? Thats just cold hard facts.

And not to get into the weeds on this, but did you read the thing that he said that was so egregious? I though that it was oddly specific, almost too much so to be "racist". I've never in my life heard anyone refer to someone in that manner, racist or not. (disclaimer, I've not been in the deep south so my exposure is admittedly limited). "Lips like Michelin tires..." again, that's just a weird thing to type in an email, unless like they claim he's just a raging racist being racist and every chance he gets he makes racial remarks about people.

Again, not defending him - dumb to put such language in an email, but something is rotten about the whole thing. 650,000 emails and thats the one they found?

Hes a douche. Throw him in the Jimmy Lake Ball Pit of Douchebags and forget about him.

KJR used to do a version of a March Madness bracket...but with hot chics.

We could do one w dbag coaches. I would add Bobby Petrino and Art Briles...as well as Brian Kelly and his new southern accent. Did anyone see that?

Makes me wonder how these guys were able to climb the ladder w such POS personalities

I wonder if somebody had a score to settle with Gruden. Why just him? He can’t be the only one with that kind of dirt on him. I’m sure there are emails squirreled away that could ruin a lot of other nfl execs and coaches.

White people saying racist shit about black peoples lips has been going on since forever. And I didn’t grow up in the South - I grew up on the south hill. More than a few racist mother f****** roamed the halls of Ferris High back in my day.

I don't think Meyer was ever gonna work out in the pros. Dude's a tyrant, and because he won in college, and had all the power over the college kids who played for him, it worked out for him. Grown men aren't as likely to put up with that crap.
