Pac-12 MBK news

The conference has approved expanding the conference schedule to 20 games beginning in 2020-21. The conference also approved new non-conference scheduling standards to eliminate too many games against 'cupcakes' and boost the Conference RPI.

I guess this is the end of Delaware St ans Miss Valley State home games. EK left just in time...think of what our records of the past could have been with this policy. Yikes!

The conference is finding new and creative ways of screwing themselves over. 12 additional losses for the conference and more as a result of the increased difficulty in the NC schedule.

Kiss the Idaho rivalry goodbye unless they have an exception clause in the requirements. We can play them at home but can't play them on the road. I doubt they agree to only play at WSU every year.

Can't schedule a team on the road if their five year average is over 200. They are well over 200 the last five years.

Maybe Mr Media Larry Scott could figure out a way to get the conference on a decent TV schedule with marquee matchups instead of coming up with hokey rules that imperil a 100+ year rivalry.

This is just wrong not to play home and home with Idaho if that is the case. We’re better than that as a university. RPI be damned.

I like this as well. This isn’t football. The elite conferences play a tough mix of nonleague games. We should too.

Possibly loopholes.....say Idaho decides to host a tourney every other year and invites one more school besides WSU to play in it?

When Seattle U returns to the Billionaire's Palace formerly known as Key Arena, they probably can't host UW either.

Or WSU schedules their "home" game in Moscow every other year. Like Idaho used to do with Martin Stadium. It would be a shame for a rivalry like that to end.

Why not just make a rule to get better. It will have as much impact as this rule. All they need to do is add a rivalry exception. Its not like we want to go on the road to play Texas Southern or Mississippi Valley

Ok wait, this makes no sense. I'm good with mandating improved non-con scheduling overall, but what does having a road game have to do with it? Almost all of the patsy games are home games anyway, so those are still OK? I guess I'll to read the new guidelines in ful and get edjumicated. Sigh......
