So how much is this hurting? Interesting article, here. It's hurting big time.

Especially when we are in the middle of a "facilities race" with the SEC, look at how much the SEC Network brings in… ouch. The SEC is going to be able to bring in up to $20 mill A YEAR for each school… The Big Ten is bringing in 3 times more for the conference...

I really don't know how much the race can continue really...

Stadium upgrades...okay..how much more can you upgrade a stadium?
Training facilities?...okay how much more can you upgrade those
practice fields...okay
weight room etc.

After a while everyone has cool stuff. Here is our cold tub.....MADE OUT OF SOLID GOLD.

You know those glaciers that are melting in Antarctica? We actually have them flown in by helicopter. We are the only school in the country that uses real glacier water in our gold tubs.

Remember that on National Signing day son.

I think we are going to be fine, I do wonder what would happen if we brokered a deal with let's say netflix for an extra 120 million / year. That would give everyone an extra 10 million.

Owning the network ourselves gives us a lot of versatility down the line that others won't have.

While Phil Knight U will upgrade its practice/workout facilities every five years or so (upgraded mirrors and leather, big screen HD TVs, new Victoria Secret cheerleader unis), the rest of us aren't going to do a whole lot outside of the occasional upgrade in equipment. The buildings/stadium aren't going to change much (we might enclose the east endzone).

Yeah, among so many other things, all that money will keep all the new stuff… looking new. All the things that can be changed up, like a posters (not like the stuff my kids had in their room, like the 5 story, 6 story stuff of that years stud), color schemes, upgrading the bleachers, I can piss away an extra $20 mill in a heart beat… And do so on stuff just to get recruits. If we're going to provide the latest XBox equipment, gotta get the latest games, bigger screens for each… it goes on and on.

And who wouldn't want to go "bigger" in everything? Weight room, Double it's size, please. Head Coaches office? Double the size, please. Locker room(s) just aren't plush and spacious enough… Lets have that double the size, please. Assistants office? Double the size, please… It's easy… and all that stuff, even if it doesn't seem to be something that would impress a recruit… When a coaches office is bigger than the footprint of our houses… it's just cool. And all of it sparkly and bright and made to impress. This is the kind of stuff the SEC is doing and will do in spades as soon as that money starts rolling in.

They already have facilities that when players hit the NFL, they talk about how much nicer the stuff in college was. Now, it'll be double that.

Eventually the money will funnel into facilities for the other sports. You are already seeing it with basketball. Once hoops and baseball have palaces, then the Olympic sports will get them.

Oh, and the coaches salaries will continue to be insane.

Good point. This isn't just about football!

There is also the pesky operations budgets that could be padded with the excess revenue. Wouldn't mind seeing the money being put into endowment funds for schollies. Put that cash to work for us.
