obviously, we’re all alone on top of the North now, and if we take care of business we’re in the conference championship. UW, Stanford, and UO are all tied right behind us with 2 conference losses.

Stanford goes to UW next week. Loser picks up their 3rd conference loss and is realistically eliminated. Since we already own the tiebreaker against the trees, we obviously root for them.

After UW, Stanford has @UCLA, @California, and Oregon state. They should be favored in all 3, but playing 3/4 on the road could create issues.

Oregon has UCLA, @Utah, ASU and @OSU. Utah could test them, they’ll be favored in the other 3.

UW only has OSU and us after Stanford.

We have Cal, @Colorado, UA, and UW.

If Stanford wins next week - and with UWs offense still in disarray, I don’t think that’s unrealistic - we don’t even need to win Apple cup to clinch the north, if we win our other 3 games.

Even if UW Wins out, if Oregon wins out too, and we go 3-1, we get the title by virtue of our division record (us and Oregon with 1 loss, UW with 2 eliminates UW. Then we own the head to head against Oregon).

The math is almost pointless. Colorado was undefeated a couple weeks ago and they lost to Oregon State. UW lost to a Cal team that got shellacked at home by UCLA a couple weeks ago.

This conference is crazy. I sure like our odds though with Minshew.

Leach said something on a podcast last week that I agree with. If there were a tournament played of the bottom tier P5 conference schools, the P12 would win easily.

If you look at Oregon State, Arizona, ASU, Cal, Colorado, and UCLA, they all play pretty well. Can’t take any of them lightly.

PAC12 was 23 points, while I believe the B10 was close to 40.
His point being, the difference from best to worst in quality of teams is more competitive in the PAC12 than every other power 5 conference.

I’m watching Arizona run up and down the field against Oregon. They have all conference caliber talent at QB, RB, and WR. We play them in Pullman the week before AC, and the game atmosphere is typically flat. Let’s hope for some bone chilling cold weather for that one.

Oregon is changing the equation. Getting shelled by UA will - for now - remove them from the conversation. Either Stanford or UW will pick up a 3rd loss next week. So, by midnight next Saturday there will be no more than 2 teams in the north that control their own destiny. We’ll be one of them. If UW wins, they’ll be the second.

What you’re seeing as the season rolls along is that the UW, Stanford, and Oregon aren’t special teams this year. The 3 of them were the conference darlings heading into the year, and the early games between Stanford/Oregon and Oregon/UW were fools gold. They were both great games, so we assumed they were all great teams.

A 100% healthy Bryce Love would've made a difference for Stanford this year, but their defense is a bit below par for them. The Ducks simply were overhyped, IMO, as is often the case in Eugene. Just two weeks ago, their fans were still talking about a potential playoff spot. I don't know what to say about the Huskies, they've just underperformed. Nonetheless, if WSU can beat all three, it will be extremely impressive.

Dillon Mitchell played most of the game last night before getting hurt. The problem for the Ducks is he's really the only above average receiver they have right now. Minshew has several outstanding receivers to choose from.
