the performance bonuses are moved more towards an Apple Cup victory, and recruiting quality players, especially on the DL, where someone (Joe Salavea?) dropped the ball and we ended up with low numbers of personnel in that position.

Also I think we need a bigger back that can come in when playing conditions are bad like Friday. I can't understand how with a 3-man defensive front most of the game we couldn't check to a run and get 4 yards every carry.

He doesn't need any further incentives; it was reported that he had $400000 on the line for AC, most of the probably from league championship and NY6 money. Anyway, if we continue to win enough to basically have the AC determine our post season, he'll continue to have that incentive.

And just to correct the title of this thread, Chun has yet to negotiate a contract with CML. Good thing, because he would not understand what all the "performance incentives" mean. Since his contract has none of them in it.

The Leach contract is chock full of incentive payments based on numerous criteria.

Assuming that you were replying to my post (there is that "reply" feature you know ;)), I was referring to Chun's contract having no incentives...…

Wonder if our band will play "Bow down" in the VB playoffs.

You’re in the small fraction of sporting fans everywhere who think playing the UW fight song was a bad move.

It was a fantastically classy, no hesitation move on WSUs part to immediately begin practicing and including their fight song as a pre-game tribute. It capped a surreal PR year for WSU with Hikinski’s tragic suicide, ESPN game day, Minshew’s emergence, and this genuine move by the AD. I can’t ever remember WSU looking as good in the spotlight as we have this season.

That you think this was a bad move says an awful lot about where your dislike for Chun stems from.

Funny thing is, it’s almost irrelevant if Leach keeps winning at this level because he can leverage other offers to get paid more anyways. Good problem to have I guess but would be nice to win an AC.

Oh give me a break Mr. Kumbaya. Bet if you took a poll of wet, cold Cougs leaving the AC you wouldn't get a giant fraction who appreciated Chun's move. The rest of the nation? Unless the are on the CFP committee, I could care less.

All Chun had to do was......nothing. You think he was inundated with calls from important people saying, "oh, a few mutt bandplayers got bruised up - so play their fight song to honor them"?

That said, I don't care. It was just another of a seemingly endless string of chances to take a jab at our unimpressive AD.

No, that’s just it. He made the decision immediately, and WSU started practicing their song. Nobody called and told him to do it. It says a lot about his character.

The “few Mutt band players” are 18-22 year old kids. That accident was serious, and it caused them to miss the Apple Cup. Awesome, classy move by WSU.

How exactly does he put incentives in Leach's contract to "recruit quality players"?

If there was such an incentive, Leach has earned it in spades.

You mad, Bro?

As mentioned above, what started as a terrible year with Hilinski's suicide has ended up being a banner year for our school and showing some class when our rival suffered harm was a great move. That you are talking smack about it only says bad things about you.

FWIW, I got a text message from a family member complimenting WSU on the classy gesture. It's the type of decision that paints our university in a positive light and it might just be the final message to that mama in Texas that she should send her kid off to WSU to play football. In many ways, it was the right choice.

The problem is that UW is not classy. Their fight song, is not classy...their team, is not classy...their fan base, is not classy. The video of our Band playing “bow down” to Washington will live on without the crash narrative, unfortunately.

I like the gesture of our band playing their fight song...but am shocked that the PC police haven't urged a change. Their song is over the top obnoxious, bow down and all.

Come on man. It won't make any difference in recruiting. That is really stretching it.

Nevertheless, I had no problem with the band doing that.

Yes I'm mad and yes I am a horrible person. Glad we got that settled.

That's kind of my point. Oh well, it's done.

Yeah i wasn’t a huge fan of the gesture but didn’t care that much. The W was a little excessive. At the end of the day the band is the band. I would wager most band members and band leaders had no clue we had lost 5 straight ACs and most probably thought Dales return was six points not two. It’s like saying cheerleaders make a difference with crowd noise. It ain’t that big of a deal let it go.

My two cents. The playing of the UW fight song wasn't that big of a deal. It acknowledged what would have been a big part of the Apple Cup experience. It's cool that both schools travel their entire bands for the game.

The big ass Block W on our field....that was overkill. Would have rather gone the other direction ala Stanford and formed the shape of a fist with the middle finger extended.

Best of both worlds. Like a mullet - business in front, party in back.

Now this post, I like. Good one.

I could buy into that.....or at least have the W upside down for the cameras?
