Sounds like Pollard was on the way out (probably even if Kent was retained). Smith won him over.
Ironic the teams retention of players greatly improved with a coaching change.
This is outstanding news.
I got $5 that says attendance doubles next year, regardless of our record.

Smith also really seemed to want the job despite many saying nobody would want it. It's good to have coaches that want to be in Pullman.Pleasantly surprised by Chuns decision to fire Kent. Clickbait was pushing hard for Decurie or Rice and neither seemed worth the effort. Smith on the other hand has produced more optimism for the program in the last couple weeks than Bone or Kent produced in the past decade.
The team went from a situation where half of the returners were expected to transfer to a situation where they lose Skaggs and maybe Nigel Johns. Considering how much El C ragged on Skaggs all year, I'm guessing he has nothing to complain about.
Good point and I think the same is true with Wade. He got into the dog house with the team it seemed and never returned to his pre-season form. Skaggs just couldn't defend any position.I think Ali may have been on the way out even if Kent stayed. His body language down the stretch showed me a lot of frustration.
El C... would you have been ok with smith if he was the guy coming in after Bone? Now Wade and Ali are going so Chun continues to take it in the shorts. Probably more to come as they become more familiar with Smith.
