Post game celebration

Yep, going to get old man for a second. Not a fan of rushing an opponents field or planting our flag on their logo. Coug fans would shit a kitten if mutt fans did that on our field.
Rushing the field happens so often anymore that I don’t see the point. Planting the flag is guaranteed to be at the top of the UW football bulletin board for the next year.

Rushing field, not so bad. Security is getting soft though. Old enough to remember when the cops maced and clubbed the UW students after an Apple Cup win. Good times.

Not a huge fan of the flag planting - mostly from a potential property destruction standpoint. If it was symbolic and not puncturing the other team's field, the consequences will play out down the road.

JDL has drawn the proverbial line in the sand and can now either live up to it a couple more times or take a beating. Something tells me he thinks he's going to run the table on the puppies.

They rushed the field because we haven’t played them within 30 points and it hasn’t been competitive for 7 years . Plus add on they were pent up all of 2020.

As for the flag, yep bulletin board material . At this point so what ? Do you remember what happened in 2002?

Torn rotator cuff. Unfortunate Dasani bottle accident.

It's a rivalry game. If you want hand shakes and pats on the back after the game, we need to Leach the game permanently. I remember the Dawgs dancing, en masse, on on the the logo after the game in 2002. They earned it. I just hated them more. I remember Don James being outraged by our post game celebration in 1982, the Huskies circled the 1983 game as "pay back." That was their theme in 1983. It was supposed to be ugly for us, you know, enraging the "better" team. "Pay back" turned into being beaten up in by Millard and Co. Made the win even sweeter.

You know what? I'd forgotten about the bs punch and then face mask, followed by stomping on our player while he was down, (and then him getting unsportsman like), so I take it back; rush the field and plant the flag. Take a streaming dump on their logo, they deserve it.

Btw, did his excellency PBUH emerge from his bunker to present the trophy?

Remember when Glen Johnson would say...."For safety reason, we ask that fans please refrain from going onto the playing field", as thousands ignored his commands and stormed. Can't remember what year?

Yes, today it's appears much more lax, or accepted. They're avoiding confrontational violence, or aggressive behavior, so now it's acceptable.

Good. It’s supposed to be a rivalry. Feels like one again and I didn’t mind that stuff at all. The swagger those kids brought last night is also a big reason they won by 27.

Walked off arm in arm with Lew Bush after the 92 Apple Cup. Was a grown ass man several years out of school at that point. Never rushed the field while in school. Figured there weren't many years left to act foolish.

Seem to recall Glen Johnson saying something something safety something something. Sounded a lot like Charlie Brown's teacher. Sorry, Glen.

Our Big Cats tore down the goal post on our side of the field after beating the Birds @ Kansas Memorial Stadium (for the first time in 25 years) after the '93 W.
Our AD had to apologize for the incident in the University Daily Kansan.

He was too busy jerking off to the fact he fired a ton of state employees over his tyrannical mandate.

I think our fans being on the field is fine- we need to breath a little life into this rivalry or its going to just be us old timers reminiscing. There was a ton of security on the field- definitely with orders not to engaged. It was so stupid back in the day having security fighting college students like they were defending the Alamo or something. I was a little bummed nobody (I saw) moved towards the goalposts. They didn't seem like the kind that fold down, but also didn't look like they would snap like a stick like in 1982!
