Josh Woods would prob be better served walking on at the school he wants to be at rather than going somewhere he doesn’t really want to be.
Right now he has given control of his playing career to coaches by waiting for a scholarship offer that may or may not appear.
If he waits out signing day and then walks on, he is where he wants to be and can now get to work. If he winds up playing, he will have his scholarship. If he winds up not playing, he enters the portal.
Imo, it is probably a short list of schools that wouldn’t take a qb with FCS offers as a walk on.
QB is a very competitive position to get a scholarship at. There are only 12 P5 schools in the West. Some may or may not even consider the NW as a place to recruit. That shrinks the list. The Mtn West has a large footprint. Some of those schools are the same, not going to the NW. Mix in the transfer portal and juco kids too.
There are only so many seats. With the addition of the portal to the mix, it just got even harder to get a scholarship.
