What are the Cougs prospects for next year under Kent? How do you see your team finishing in the Pac 12 and do you see post season tournament as a possibility? Outside of Lacy, who will be your impact players? Thx

1. A team which will more fun to watch.

2. Bottom 3 of Pac-12.

3. Lacy and an outside chance Q comes on big.

Lack of a front line will kill WSU next year.

I see the guard play as having an impact. The guards who should see time are Lacy, Que,Dunbar,Redding ,Ike and possibly Davis. I also see Cheatum as starting but it is hard to see quality on the front line.. Perhaps,Railey or Longrus can improve or Kent recruits a quality big man with his last scholarship. The freshmen PG s should be fun to watch but it is hard to see a post season unless a couple of the things mentioned happen. The dearth of quality D1 players on last years' roster is astounding for a PAC 12 team.

I think we will finish in the bottom two.

We really got hurt by poor recruiting across the board.

Ernie Kent is not a system guy. He needs to recruit some talent and let them grow into good Pac-12 players.

It will be another rough season...but I at least have some hope.

Under the prior coach, it was a predictable spiral downward.

I keep hoping for another quality big man to suddenly pop up. Last year Railey got 16 minutes per game, while Hawkinson got 7 minutes per game. That probably was five minutes too much for Hawkinson.Railey should get about 16 minutes per game.Cheatum should start but another big man who can run the court and crash the boards is needed.

I think Hawkinson could have a very good year. I don't think he will ever be a super star but for a freshmen I saw a lot of things in his game I liked. It would be nice for Cheatum to shine but I see little indication that he is much more than a big body.

If you will reverse that analysis,i will agree with you. Kent needs big players who can run the floor. One cannot have players doing the clodhopper stomp(that was for all you old guys) out there,

Interesting. Thanks for the analysis guys. It sounds like he has his work cut out for him. Recruiting is tough in this league and every team seems to get these high level transfers out of nowhere. It is hard to compete.

I really would like for Hawkinson to improve and be able to contribute to the team, since the cougs certainly needs help at the inside positions. Last year, however,it seemed like his minutes decreased once they quit playing patsies and started PAC 12 play.Perhaps when he was playing D11 players, he looked decent against that level of competition?

Or perhaps we had a bad coach last year. He should have played Hawk a bunch more.

That goes without saying. I would think that Hawkinson will get an equal chance to prove himself. You hold out mcuh more hope than i do .His HS videos were not impressive nor his play last year,in my opinion. That "bad coach" was the only one to offer him a D1 scholarship last year. The other offer ,he really had was from San Diego not San Diego State.
