SB Nation sites including Brand Y but especially the Mariners site, has too many authors/mods participating (arguing) in the threads which breads sycophancy in the comment threads.
And they are both click farms, which pay horribly but are essentially being used by some authors to build their resumes to get media gigs or jobs with the people the cover.

I tried ignoring the Serial Covidites for a while. But the problem is that you end up with a bunch of threads that flow like crap. And many of them post some good content when they don’t let themselves get derailed.
Would be nice if folks could just be civil to each other and respect differences in opinion.
But I love being spoken down to and having my actions mandated.
Brand X is dead - no body posts there since the CPW sycophant/ propoganda train nuked their participation levels.
Brand Y has taken up the mantle of sycophants, but they are sycophants of themselves - if you don't get on board with their opinion/ world view, you'll be banned immediately. So, I guess if you find Jeff Nusser the absolute guru of all things Coug, you might get along there fine.
There used to be places where you could make your own board, but that still takes moderation/ moderators to make it work. I supposed it wouldn't be that hard to nuke posters or threads that go political once a day, but again that would take a time commitment.
Yea once they started their heavy handed censorship I bailed as well.

How about some self policing. If your thread gets hijacked w/BS just change the title of the thread so people know it went down the toilet. If you don’t want your thread derailed with politics, just add no politics to it. If anyone strays, well then you’re an asshole.

There is an unfortunate intersection of politics with the program at the moment. Not the first time, Lone Star Dietz just 4 years removed from winning the Rose Bowl was put on trial in Spokane for "draft dodging" while he was in his mid30s and the war had been over for awhile.

I still look here 3-5 days a week, post when I feel I have something to add, some people just like to read what they post, and that's part of the problem. I don't get involved in political talk, since you are either right or wrong depending who is listening to you and many times there is no right or wrong. There are times when I see ignorant statements like "Chun tried to torpedo the football program" because he let Rolo go due to the vax mandate, that make me cringe. It is comments like that, which make me want to go away for good. If you can't see that there was a statewide political and media blitz behind removing Rolo, to support the vax mandate, I can't help you. Local news, state news, national news, several times a week. the Seattle times at least two articles a week, nightly news casts, there was people with money, power and influence behind getting rid of Rolo, and if Chun didn't do it, he was gone. Were lucky Chun is still here. The day to day news and conversation on the current state of football program and sometimes basketball is why I check in. Hopefully there is still some worthwhile conversation and discussion, I don't mind people disagreeing with others, but attacking people for a different opinion isn't necessary. Pointing out a player's or person's weakness is fine, but I don't like people personally attacking players, coaches ect, personally, or coming up with cute little nicknames, we are in this together lets try to remember that. In the end we want what is best for Cougar football, and people have different opinions, that's why we show up here.
