According to Coach Smith, Jefferson Koulibaly is the best "on the ball" defender on the team, that's saying quite a bit when Noah Williams is a lock down defender in his own right. Throw in Efe Abogidi, am I the only one seeing a return of an athletic Bennett Ball, defense that will allow us to attack the boards on offense at the same time?

Smith was a home run hire by Chun. The Cougars are so fun to watch. I read that about Koulibaly. Efe is going to be a good one. Plus, Markovetskyy is huge and has affected a lot of shots. I think Jackson could be a good defensive player as well.

I was dreaming in the offseason about Koulibaly and Williams defensively in the backcourt. Add Bamba down the line with Abogidi and we have the potential to terrorize teams on defense.

Enjoy Abogidi. He has "leave early" potential. Hope we can keep him in Pullman for another couple years. He's special.

I don't know if they're "fun" to watch just quite yet. Once the offense clicks and gets going, it's going to be a lot of fun. Lack of O most of the season reminds me of Dick's final season at the helm. I'll take winning in any standard though. The future is extremely bright.

Coach Smith is smart enough to know defense is where you need to start the building process but he is actually known in the basketball world for his offensive prowess. We are in for some good years😀

Yup, Smith's an offense guy but all he had to do is look at where we were when he took over and what had actually worked in the past. Bennet and Sampson further back yes. Kent definitely no!

You can only fix so much the first couple of years. Defense, rebounding, and taking care of the ball was a lot to bite off. The offensive production is going to come.
