Watched Otto Landrum play last week and color me impressed! 2022 recruit with offers from Hawaii and one of the Cal State schools. Shows interest from WSU. Very hard nose player with solid bball IQ, good timing and very good foot work. Not exceptionally athletic but average to maybe slightly above average in that category. Reminded me a tad of Josh Hawkinson but I never saw him shoot from more than 12 ft. Imo his stock will rise by this time next year. 6-9 215

Would Rather WSU get a PURE TRUE PG that 5 ft 11 in, to 6 ft, to 6ft, 1 in, to 6ft 2 in, that score 10 ppg, 5,6,7,8,9 assist per game, good ball handler, drive, disher, takes good care of ball, doesnt turn the ball over, extremely high Bball IQ, makes extremely good decisions, manages game well, leader, plays good defense, takes charges, doesnt commit charge fouls driving, can hit tear droppers, floaters, runners, mid range jumper, accurate 3 point shooter, 75% to 95% freethrow shooter, fast, athletic, etc.

Kunc is the only big that could leave.

There is EFE, Vova, Dischon Walker, Miller, Chatfield, AJ(3/4)(6 ft 7.5 in).

Most to Almost all of them are going to be at WSU for 2,3, more years, and 2,3 more recruiting classes.

Because of that WSU/Smith should probably should be a little tiny wee little tiny bit more CHOOSY, PICKY in who, which Big, they go after, get, etc.

And shoukd go after a wee little tiny bit less bigs this recruiting class.

PG, followed by Shooting Guard, Combo guard, followed by a True, Pure, 6ft 11.5 in to 7 ft, 3 in Center(if possible to get)

The Wing/3 Spot is way overloaded, not/LESS needed/wanted.

The 4/stretch 4 spot is also less needed.

If WSU gets a 3 or a 4 this recruiting class, they should be a WORLD BEATER, otherwise probably not worth getting a 3 or 4 this recruiting class.

Get a 1. PG. 2. SG. 3. CENTER, in that priority order.

In watching him, can he move well enough to play the defense that Coach Smith expects?

Saw a bit of Josh Hawkinson as well even how he moved at times. Hawkinson may have had an inch or two on him but he might still grow a bit. While not the most athletic Landrum seemed to have good feet.

Is he a CENTER?

If not, IS HE A WORLD BEATER?

iIf not and if not a CENTER, then WSU needs to not go after, get him, abd needs to be CHOOSIER, PICKIER.

WSU HAS PLENTY OF AWESOME BIG MEN, that will be at WSU for 2,3 years, and 2,3 recruiting classes.

WSU needs:

1. PG. 2. SG 3. CENTER.

WSU has WAY TOO MANY 3/Wings, and 4/PF/Stretch 4's, that becat WSU for 2,3 more years, recruiting classes.

So WSU can be more Choosier, pickier in the Big Men area.

If a 3/4, stretch 4, big is a World Beater, then fine go after, get.

If not, PASS, and get a 3/4, stretch 4, Big in the next recruiting class after this coming recruiting class.

This coming recruiting class has only 2,3 spots.

Make Em count, and WSU really needs a PG, SG, CENTER.

And PROBABLY not the 4, PF your talking about

WSU can PROBABLY DO, GET EVEN BETTER THEN THAT, AN OR DOESNT NEED THAT UNTIL THE NEXT RECRUITING CLASS AFTER THIS COMING RECRUITING CLASS

We have a true PG coming in next year in Myles Rice. We also have Jefferson Koulibaly who might have been our PG this year as a true freshman but got hurt and is redshirting. That's 2 freshmen PGs coming in, I honestly don't think we need another one so soon....but I could be wrong. (Not to mention that Noah might end up being our PG in the future and/or Rapp will see some time at the position the next couple of years.)

On the other hand, I actually think we could use another big man in the 2022 class. Vova will be a senior by the 22-23 season when Landrum would come in, Miller will be gone as early as next year, Chatfield is a walkon (but could develop), Efe by then could possibly turn pro, Jackson would be a junior. I'd like to bring in one big guy in every recruiting class.

Whatever the coaching staff thinks is best is okay with me. Smith has done such a great job recruiting that I'm not in any position to question his decisions on what the team needs.

As far as defense goes he stayed close to the basket, blocked a few shots, looks to be a banger inside..

True about Smith knowing what he is doing. But Smith hasnt offered Otto.

I dont disagree about the wanting a Big.

But there is a difference between a CENTER BIG and a 4, PF, Stretch 4 Big.

WSU needs a CENTER BIG.

WSU does not need a 4, Stretch 4 Big, Wing/3.

And if your going to get a 4, that dont need, with only 2,3 schollys for the class, it better be a WORLD BEATER.

Josh Hawkins ON PAPER when he came out of highschool was low, lower ranked for a GOOD reason.

Yeah he worked out great.

But if you take 10 Josh Hawkinson types, your gona get about 7,8 Henry's(Bennets Henry that Bennet got with Cowgil, etc), Big man version of LODWICK, and 2 or 3 Josh Hawkinson's that panned out.

Now its one thing if need a lot of Bigs, or are in a REBUILD, and have 4,5, 4.5 to 7 scholly spots, instead of not needing, only having 2,3 scholly spots.

Also WSU just had its best recruiting class of all time, recruit ranking wise.

When you do that you go for better, instead of settling for a lower rated LODWICK, HENRY, Josh Hawkinson type Big, especially when you dont need 4's type of bigs and need CENTERS, and only have 2,3 scholly spots.

And thats why WSU, Smith has only shown interest, but not offered.

Its the Aw Shucks fans that love the Henry's, Lodwicks, Josh Hawkinson, that want WSU to get a Aw Shucks Bigs, instead of getting better.

WSU can, should, will do a lot better then OTTO, Henry, Lodwick, Josh Hawkinson, Aw Shucks, lower rated, 2 star, Lunch Pail Big, 4/PF.

Instead WSU can, should be abke to get a 3 star, 3.5 star Big instead of a 2, 2.5 star Big.

WSU needs another Vova, a 6ft 11.5 in to 7 ft 2 in 255 pound, 2.85 star to 3 star, 3.5 star, 3.75 star player, instead of, not a 6 ft 9 in 200 pound, 2 star to 2.5 star, Henry, Josh player.

Your right about the PG I forgot about Myles Rice.

So 1. A combo PG/SG/3 HYBRID and 2. A CENTER, 3,4 STARS, 6ft 11.5 in to 7ft 1 in, 255 pounds, 3. BEST either PG, SG, Big available(Not a HENRY), no 3's and no stretch 4's

Thats what WSU needs, should get.

Smith knows that, and Thats why he hasnt offered Henry er Otto yet, and why he probably wont offer Henry er Otto yet

Plenty ofvtime to try to get better and use Otto as PLAN C, in case PLAN A, and PLAN B dont work.

Smith is just lining up his PLAN B,C, in Otto.

A little history.....Chris Henry was arguably the star of that great recruiting class Dick Bennett brought in coming out of high school. Much higher rated than Cowgill, Weaver, Harmeling....and even Derrick Low depending on who you talk to. Unfortunately, Henry hurt his back and wasn't able to be much of a contributor due to injury. He certainly wasn't a 2-star stiff coming out of HS.

Either Kyle Smith likes Otto and offers or he doesn't. I have no opinion or knowledge of what he should or will do, but if he takes him, I'm okay with it based on Smith's track record.

Not sure if the Cougs are interested, nor am I saying they should be, just giving personal thoughts on a player.
