I've read that some coaches insist that after a commitment is made there will be no visits taken therafter, is it time for Leach to do this? I think if Player starts taking trips his scholarship should be up for grabs, tired of WSU being a placeholder

He does that already.

At least sometimes.

I don't think we're in a position to really play hardball.

Not sure that sends the right message. If you are confident in what you are selling, you shouldn't be too concerned about kids shopping around...especially in this game when you really can't close the deal until signing day anyways.

I think you've got to have a plan for the land mines that you know other schools are going to plant in these kids heads, and maybe somehow they weren't able to sell against that stuff this year. You know there was some serious last minute mud slinging and a bunch of these players bought it.

I would like to see a period before signing day where coaches aren't able to contact or interview coaches at other schools. This is where a lot of the sleazyness comes into play IMO. When a guy like Sark goes out and pays Tosh to bring in guys he has recruited to another school...might as well be paying the players themselves (which Tosh also did anyways). Wish they'd put in a dead period for coaches getting hired/interviewed, etc.

If the commit is gonna keep taking trips, coaches should keep offering scholarships at his position. If he isn't entirely sold on WSU and another kid comes along that is, looks like he'd better have an offer from the school he just visited.

Leach has already gone on record that if a committed recruit wants to look around, WSU will look around for his replacement. It's kind of a middle ground on this issue. Clearly, some recruits become addicted to the Twitter narcissism, but as Leach said those less concerned with self-aggrandizement tend to work harder to improve themselves on the field.
