According to Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports, California assistant head coach Rob Likens has been hired as the offensive coordinator at Kansas. Likens, arguably Cal's top recruiter, was also Cal's passing game coordinator and receivers coach.
This is significant for Washington State because Likens was Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure receiver Lavan Alston's primary recruiter. Alston, who will officially visit Washington State on Jan. 16, has already officially visited Cal and has been closely linked to the Golden Bears since.
Oregon State and Nebraska are also in the picture -- and could hold the edge -- but the Cougars' chances get a boost with Likens bolting to Kansas.
