RoBo Franks not invited to the combine

Interesting if he does return. The cougs would definitely be a better team next year,if he returns. However, someone said that he has already withdrawn from school. He was no where ready or able to be an NBA player. There are a couple of big holes in his game. If he returns ,i hope he works on them rather than just play with other players this summer.

Doesn’t sound like the nba is in his immediate future, if ever, so he can always go overseas or transfer if he doesn’t go back to WSU. Hopefully he will go back to school, get his degree and then make appropriate plans from there.

He hasn't graduated as far as I can see so if he transfers he would have to sit a year and be that much further away from getting paid. So it's pretty much G-League, go overseas, or return to WSU. I think a return makes sense but he seemed pretty set on one of the other routes. Wish him well regardless of his decision.

I wish him luck. There are so many marginal players who think they are NBA material. He needs to graduate, then sign a Euro contract . He can live a very comfortable life if he makes the right decisions.

Hope that Franks makes it back into school nad on the team. Would be good for him to get the degree and sure would help his team mates.

I am speculating, but maybe Robert Franks, like so many other athletes who dream of playing ball professionally, went to WSU with the only aim of achieving his goal of being a pro. He could definitely improve his stock by coming back, but he also risks injury or underperformance that would cause his stock to drop from where it is now. He needs to make the decision that's right for him, not necessarily what we think is right for the team's sake.

Glad Cougar

Sometimes, in hindsight, these end up being the same decision.

Sincerely, Philip Bobo and Hercules Mata'afa. ;) (hoping I'm wrong on Mata'afa)

I wonder if it was the big jump in production made him think now was time to strike while the iron is hot. Unfortunately the jump probably wasn't enough to get an NBA look. At this point I wouldn't say he's better or has more upside than say Motum who was able to get a summer league but wasn't able to make a roster.

I do not see Franks as having the ability to ever make an NBA team. However,he will be able to make an European team. In Australia, the players would hold a job and play for the team. He would profit from having a college degree as parts do wear out over time.He should return fo9r his own sake. Of course, that takes a realistic view at his abilities and actuarial tables.
