Rolo s last tweet. He was a daily “tweeter” until 7-21

I read an article on Cougcenter that talked about how much Rolovich has changed over the past two years.

As dumb as I think it is that he’s decided to make this stand, the last two years have had to have been incredibly difficult for Rolovich. It’s sad to see our country in the position it is where folks that you’d normally enjoy associating with on the other side of a very divisive issue and it changing how they go through life.

You're first problem is reading CougCenter. It's like reading Slate, you're not going to get a reasonable perspective.

Rolovich was fine. There was a bump with Kassidy Woods and if you want to fixate on that, like Cougcenter does go right ahead. If you truly want to believe a person who privately recorded a conversation without other person's knowledge and then leaked it to the media is a stand up individual, your choice. Woods was never kicked off the team, Rolovich said there was a plan for staying on the team if you are opting out for Covid, there wasn't for joining the alliance. And you can't have it both ways, you can't opt out, but then expect to workout and practice with the team. It's like taking leave, you can't take leave and be like "I'm still coming to work", you can't do it. If Rolovich was so bad, why is Hobbs still on the team? One of the leaders of the alliance. A person who opted out last year because of Covid, still with the program. Why is that? If you want to ignore all the players that spoke out in favor of Rolovich, such as Jahad Woods, Borghi, JDL, and many others again your choice.

The mandate costed him his job. Rolovich didn't change. Rolovich was never outspoken against protesting, he never posted a doctored video online, he never made any controversial comments to the media. Just say you don't like him because he doesn't align with your political views. It'll look a lot better than this BS of a post.

All he did was not get vaccinated. Rolovich supported local business during the pandemic, Rolovich was there for the team with Bryce Beekman died, Rolovich supported the team when a player was shot a month ago. Rolovich followed the rules of the mandate, he was masked, he was testing daily, he wasn't running around disregarding the rules. Rolovich is not an evil person like so many want to make him out to be.

He's gone now, I'm moving on. Will you?

how the fck would Jeff Nusser know anything about Nick Rolovich? Stop reading that pulp fiction, it's melting your brain.

Nusser et al also conveniently ignore the Woods' family litigious and problematic background, but hey... when you have a narrative to push to get clicks, what do facts matter?

I’m just saying that Rolovich went from a daily tweeter who actively tried to be positively involved with the community and the media to “f#ck it, I’m doing my own thing”. The source of the commentary doesn’t make it untrue.

I thought based on your posts, anti-vaxers should be cast out of society.

I think he said in that article that he decided to forego Twitter because he figured the majority of the reaction would be negative. I don't blame him.

I will say, it is rather striking to look at Rolo's demeanor when he was hired compared to now. Seems like he's just kind of listless this year. Maybe he was just exhausted by the vaccine situation, or tired of the media. I don't know. Kind of sad really.

It's funny that two years ago fans from all over the state are joining Rolo for beers (that he bought btw) and the Thompson's are talking about how great he is. Now fast forward to now where he is a villain. I don't think he is the one that changed.
Thompson’s said he was a villain. Who said he was a villain? He made a choice , I hope it works out for him wherever he ends up. I won’t lie, he and other coaches have asked way more in terms of sacrifice From the kids than “not being told what to do”. He isn’t anti vax, he didn’t need to hide behind a religious exemption .

But a villain… that is a bit rich . But he chose to defy his boss’ wishes . This is how big time sports works .

The people he was courting in that pub crawl were always going to be the first ones to knife him.

The Wulff widow tailgate brigade and media mouth breathers

I agree something was different .

He got sideswiped by a pos player and their family and his employer didn't back him up. In fact, Chun was deafeningly silent last year through the whole lockdown hysteria, letting Rolo deflect all incoming shots at the program.

Recruiting got tanked (unless you're ASU and have a golden handshake with Mark Emmert) by the pandemic and it didn't look like they were likely to recover. I'm not saying he tanked it, but he sure as he'll didn't have a lot of incentive to stay since Chun seemed satisfied with hanging him out to dry if/when shit went sideways.

He also got outscored 38-0 in the second half of games. Twice. In less than a seasons worth of games. Tell me of another coach this happened to who survived to see the following season. I’ll wait.
I know it helps your narrative to say those who weren’t 100% on board are trying to crucify him because he wasn’t vaxxed, but for F sake, it’s not like his performance made him bulletproof.

During 10 quarters in 2008, WSU was outscored 169-0.

That head coach survived 3 more years. And both Brand X & Brand Y were against that coach's firing.

And if Wulff did what Rolo chose to do I would have fired him too. If Rolo got vaxed he would get 4 years to show what he could do. Rolo chose not to let the Pac 12, his boss the governor tell hime what to do. This wasnt about religious conviction. He chose not being told what to do (media day) vs his team and his coaches. I will absolutely guarantee he asked his players for a bigger sacrifice than that.

I figured someone would go there. Apples and oranges. Here’s why. As bad as Wulff was his rosters were never good enough to be in any of those games. Rolo’s teams were talented enough to be ahead by double digits at halftime. The coaching was then bad enough to get beat that bad in the second half. Surely you are smart enough to see the difference.

Inslee gave the SEIU home health care workers an exemption from this mandate because they donate BIG to Team Blue.

When the COVID shut downs began in March 2020 with the state legislature still in session what were the final 2 bills they were working on? Giving the Tribes (another huge Team Blue donor) a monopoly on sports betting and passing a state plastic bag tax which hits the poor the hardest (But there is still no bottle bill to protect the environment).

If WSU is so concerned about COVID spread within the football team they need to cancel this game with BYU which has no mandate and an unvaxed rate of 24%.

Inslee was kept in check while Frank Chopp was House Speaker. That check on his excesses ended 3 years ago.

Wulff inherited a 5-7 team from a coach who had just won the Apple Cup.

If you think it was the rosters, let's have WSU bring back Wulff to coach.

Thanks for the history lesson … you going to give us one on Sam Jankovich next and his incident?

Serious question … why is there a fascination with wulff . Is that such a bad taste in your mouth even after Leach that you need to bring him up .

what is it you need to hear that can help you get over that grief .

No thanks. And seriously, you going to argue that Wulffs roster was anywhere close to what Rolos roster was? I’m no Wulff apologist and I’m also not a Rolo hater, I actually wanted him to be here based on the momentum of the team. But for F sake man, come up with some better material.

Lazy alum hire which appeals to the worst of WSU's ah schucks culture. He was basically unfirable. His media support to this day remains fascinating.

You're trying to say (in so many words) that 4-32 > 4-5.

The idiot should've gotten his shot and it is a big red flag for any extension, but to argue this was a good fire or the program was in disarray is disingenuous.

And if Moos could have gotten out of his contract Scott free, he probably would have much sooner.

No. I’m not. I’m saying that Rolo’s performance over 11 games considering the talent he had to work with, and he had plenty, is mediocre at best, but some of you guys are making this out as if Nick Saban got sacked.
You brought Wulff into this not me. That was a whole other brand of shit show. After the last 3 games I wanted to see where this would go and was disappointed too. But it’s also a fact that in 11 games he got completely out coached and his teams got dismantled after halftime in what, 4-5 of them? That’s not a talent issue that’s a coaching issue. You seriously going to dispute that?

You couldn't possibly know this. And it is arrogant and presumptuous of you to think otherwise.
