We're not cutting bait ASAP. That's simply not going to happen, especially if this is true and he has indeed met the mandate. He'll be here at least through next season. It'll be interesting to watch people who wanted him fired on Saturday rush to the "there isn't the money to fire him" camp.
My position hasn't changed. We need to either decide to give this guy 3-4 years risking the possibility it completely tanks the program if things don't work out or cut bait ASAP.
If you give him next season, you might as well give him two after to see if it will work. He's not recruiting at a level where another coach can come in and win right away, so might as well see if this run and shoot experiment can be pulled off. We're not cutting bait ASAP. One thing I've considered is that the coaches have designed schemes to mask our personnel deficiencies on the defensive side of the ball, but opposing coaches eventually figured us out and exploited our weaknesses. We've also had a revolving door at the QB position with a true freshman getting most of the reps.FWIW, I'm still trying to figure out what it means that we've had double digit leads in four out of five losses. The fact that they are losses is bad....but is there any positive spin that can be taken from it?
Not a chance. See Blanchette vs PriceIt'll be interesting to watch people who wanted him fired on Saturday rush to the "there isn't the money to fire him" camp.

Agree completely. Barring a complete meltdown this season, I expect Rolovich to be our coach if he gets vaccinated. FWIW, for all of the talk about "player's coach", it does sound like the team is on his side and that means something to an AD. It's not the only factor in a decision obviously.

Where did you see this?Apparently Rolo's mom chimed in and insinuated this was not reliable. The circus continues.

Great....
Fair to say PR is not the Rolovich family's strong suit.
Perhaps he’s getting vaxxed behind her back?!Apparently Rolo's mom chimed in and insinuated this was not reliable. The circus continues.

I think Chun cans him after the season, if it plays out the way it looks like it will. We can't afford to keep him over the buyout and destroy the programAs soon as you know your HC isn't the guy you have to move. You cannot allow him to stay any longer. People write about the buyout and not having the money to pay it.... why would you find yourself in that position? Especially when you are taking a guy from maybe $500,000 per year to $3,000,000+??? You have the leverage in the negotiation. If he doesn't want to agree to less favorable buyout terms for him, he can walk. Turd had jack squat for stats under his belt. He is a young coach that hasn't had so much as a cup of coffee at a Power 5 school. And now he has WSU by the bawlz with a buyout??? Good grief. Who negotiated this deal for WSU?? Their future needs to be evaluated too.
Or... WSU does have the money to fire him and just isn't making a move...
What the heck was this about?Getting a coach fired is good for a journalist's brand. See Paul Fineman. And Ryan Blethen trying to get Donnie Marbut sh*t-canned over the BS resume (pretty sure that article got a re-read when Marbut stopped winning and started complaining about $).

3 wins or less and he’s going to be in a huge hole for recruiting and fan support (unless he wins the AC).I think Chun cans him after the season, if it plays out the way it looks like it will. We can't afford to keep him over the buyout and destroy the program
Doba was "humanely released" aka firetired after winning the Apple Cup.3 wins or less and he’s going to be in a huge hole for recruiting and fan support (unless he wins the AC).
It was a "meh" hire. I wanted to be wrong. But it's time to cut bait and hire a staff who can make adjustments and succeed on the field, because I cannot see it happening. I don't care if he had a "tough" schedule - WSU needs to look at every game as winnable. Even with all his crazy decisions on the field, when it was rolling I felt a Leach team could win any game. That feeling doesn't exist anymore.
I know I've been in the minority of disliking the leadership of Schulz and Chun, so I'll allow you to ask yourselves this question: do you want Chun hiring another football coach?
...that's a scary thought (to me). You can make other great hires in the other programs (Kyle Smith is EXCELLENT - credit where due there) but two bad football hires is a kiss of death.
WSU football is on some shaky ground, and I don't like the direction it seems to be headed.
It won't be for longIt means the roster is talented enough to hang with other teams, but we are easily outcoached.
