Rumor: Another Pac-12 coaching change?

If it happens, watch Sitake the defensive coordinator take the head job. He would greatly increase the poly recruiting for them

The question becomes who does Utah hire. Did Gary Anderson

jump the gun?

If Whittingham is ready to throw in the towel and admit that he can't get it done at Utah now that he is playing with the big boys, then it makes total sense to get a big contract with a 5 year guarantee and take the money at Michigan, even if he is likely to fail. He had a good enough season this year to leverage it into other, higher profile offers.

On the other hand, he may not be ready to kiss off where he will be next year if he stays.

Stay tuned for further developments.

And by the way, my Michigan friends tell me that the AD is getting frantic. He has been turned down by at least 7 and possibly as many as 10 people that he has approached.

Michigan is such a mess. It should be one of the top 5 or 10 jobs in the country, but it's been handled so poorly.

Given Rich Rod's "failure" at Michigan and pretty huge success at UA, one wonders if Michigan is such a tightly constrained (by the administration/boosters) situation that it's nearly impossible to be successful at this point?

Hiring Kyle Whittingham off a team that went 14-22 (0.389) in the P12 seems like a desperation move indeed. I think Whittingham is a decent coach, but not somebody a school with Michigan's pedigree should be considering as being in their top 15 choices.

Just seems like the AD is reacting to outcries from boosters rather than having an actual strategy. It remains to be seen if CML is a success here overall, but credit Moos for having some other irons in the fire. Michigan just seems like a mess at this point where the powers-that-be will tie your hands. Think Uncle Phil without the money x50.
