Though I understand if complications arise that make it unviable, (or if you think that the way Leach runs his practices that you won't get enough content from it) but could we have somebody giving us some original content through spring ball and fall practice? It could be a student at the school for all I care, but I don't think even diehard Cougs are going to feel like we know what he have going into 2018. The initial starters at the offensive skill positions (outside of QB) are probably set, but what goes on behind them will be intriguing. The offensive line loses three starters, and the remaining two play the most important positions on the line, so successors developing would be of some interest as well. Our placekicker is gone, and with any luck, a new punter will also emerge. On defense a solid group of players (and our most dominant presence) are gone and while some of the youngsters have some experience, the defensive line in particular will probably look completely different. All of this aside from having no quarterbacks on the roster with live game snaps.
The roster is much more talented overall than it was when Leach arrived, but the group of players who've graduated combined with the loss of Hilinsky means a team that's in transition, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love some extra details about this group of Cougs. Leach may still be here, but half the defensive staff and our most accomplished offensive assistant have moved on, and the pages are turning. I don't expect miracles or day by day depth chart updates, but I'm sure I'm not the only one that would find anything original on the second Leach era (the core players from the original teams are all gone now) to be worth logging on for every day.
