Season to Start Nov 7th

It will apparently be a 7 game season. I haven't seen any schedules published.
I’ve got such mixed feelings about this. At least we aren’t the lone holdouts. Gotta think I wouldn’t want my son taking that kind of chance but, alas, he’s no D1 athlete.

What about women’s soccer, volleyball, etc? If they aren’t allowed to play, will we see law suits? Does this run afoul of title 9? There are a lot of litigious folks out there. I’ve been wondering about this for awhile but have never really pursued an answer to the question.

No need to have mixed feelings. It’s a money grab. Not ideal, but certainly understandable.

Apple Cup in December should be interesting.

Ignore the Title IX stuff above. They are still planning to play on the spring.

48,000 positive covid tests in colleges across the country, 2 hospitalizations. That a way PC Pac-12, always looking out for the ones that matter, Overpaid University Presidents and staff, not students. Larry Scott is the most overpaid POS on the planet.

2/48,000 = .00004167

Larry only likes to do math to calculate his bonus.

At this point it is as much as we don't know as we do you. You think people would have at such high numbers picked up cigs when they first started manufacturing them if it was fully known it caused several different long term problems. My guess is no. Not to say it wouldn't be like today, but at least people are now armed with information they didn't have in the infancy of cigs.

And when the college player dies from covid related he wont be just a stat, but he will be a law suit. And I know they are signing waivers, but doesn't prevent the cost of attorneys defending the case or cases.

Just out of curiosity, fast forward to 15 years, and like with what they are learning about CTE, they discover when they kids are late 30's they are dying off in droves from complications due to getting corona in which they got while playing football, are you ok with it with Back to the Future like information?

Getting Covid from someone at a party would be so much safer.

With a waiver and the reality that they won’t be able to prove that they contracted the virus on the field of play, I don’t see a lot of risk for the schools here.

Pullman is one of the National hotbeds for COVID right now, as are many college towns. Are kids going to double back and sue the school in 10-15 years? Are hospital staff, first responders, and employees deemed “essential” going to sue the City or State? That’d be millions of lawsuits.

I work in the medical field, and I’ve been fortunate to speak with many doctors and researchers about the risks of COVID. All of them, and I mean literally 100% of them, have told me that the risks to healthy people are “remarkably low.”

It’s not a joke, or a hoax, or something to be taken lightly for those with underlying health problems, but the risk of death or long term affects from illness just aren’t there for healthy people.

Altho I agree that Larry Scott is bad, and that University Presidents, Staff is overpaid.

Your numbers are warped, twisted.

Thus numbers USUALLY come from Students, Athletes GOING TO OFF CAMPUS PARTIES.

In other words, THEY ARE USUALLY GETTING COVID FROM THOSE OFF CAMPUS PARTIES THAT THEY GOTO, and NOT from campuses that have adequate social distancing, semi lockdown, testing, safety precautions, etc.

The students who are either at home, an or in DORMS, are SAFER then those who live in their own apartments off campus, away from mom, dad, at home, an or their usually strict DORM POLICE ER DORM LEADERS, WITH STRICT DORM RULES

The Football players who USUALLY are LOCKED DOWN, spend 100% of their time in special classes under supervision of the teachers, coaches, away from the rest of the student body population, that only goto class, read, study, learn, lift weights, practice, play football games, etc, are WAY MORE SAFER then if they were NOT football players, and if they were either in their own apartment off campus, or in a frat house, etc.

Only way those football players might be safer, is with their parents, mom and Dad, at home.

So your using cherry picked, warped, twisted, numbers.

The chances of young, healthy, football players getting covid, then being hospitalized, then either dying an or having long term complications, is about the same chance Hank Gathers had of getting, having sickle cell problems and dying, or of getting hit by lightning.

MAYBE 1 to 4 Football players will die out of 15000 to 85000 football players.

Also the football players can OPT out, and NOT lose their scholly.

NO ONE IS FORCING THE FOOTBALL PLAYERS TO PLAY.

YOU CAN STOP LISTENING TO THE LAMESTREAM MAINSTREAM MEDIA, POLITICIANS, THAT ARE MOSTLY FAR RADICAL FAR LEFTIST LIBERAL CONTROL FREAKS FEAR MONGERERS.

All the more reason to play. Daily testing for players instead of hanging out on Greek row all fall. You could argue it’s actually safer to play than to not. Oh, and these young adults can opt out.
