Many of you have expressed dissatisfaction with our AD and President. Not only were you right, but we were caught off guard and sleeping.

We've realized how essential, critical and imperative it is to have the right skillset for an executive leader, president, or chancellor to successfully negotiate a complex, once in a lifetime media deal.

Just because someone has a title, or your boss is at the top of the Org Chart, doesn't mean he has a natural or competency skillset at negotiating a complex media deal.

Hindsight: Chun should've hired a competent skilled proactive negotiator, consultant for WSU. To expect a Power 5 President of a university to have this skillset, or an executive from Las Vegas, with no college football or media deal background, was truly a grave and serious mistake.

And now we're seeing the consequences.

Granted, nobody wants us except a MWC or an AAC. But, look at Colorado, who was 1-11 last year. 6 days after the Pac 12 Media Conference by GK, Colorado signed deal with the Big 12. Yes, they have Deion, but they moved quickly. We were sleeping, probably thinking...."we'll eventually be okay. Everything will work itself out".

Your thoughts?

I generally hate the idea of hiring consultants. I criticized Florida State (not that anyone cares) because they hired JP Morgan to run their athletic department cash flows for the next 20 years. Really? A major university doesn’t have the brainpower within their organization to run cash flow scenarios going out 20 years? That’s pathetic. It’s not rocket surgery. State your assumptions and scenarios and run the numbers. It’s unreal. But pay JP Morgan no doubt millions of dollars to utilize some recent greenhorn MBA grads to run some numbers for you to use to justify what you already plan to do. That is how this works.

As for Chun, he likely didn’t fully understand that most ADs and presidents in the PAC-12 wanted us to sink and are comprised of a bunch of cowards and skittish administrators who were terrified of getting caught with no chair to sit on when the music stopped. Was he in over his head? Probably, because he was assuming other conference members would act in good faith. Money talks though. That is all that matters.

I dont think it would have made much difference no matter what we did. Thd fact that other schools in our confetence were trying to cut us out illustrates the bias and lack of respect we face

Bill Moos, to this day, has been the best AD we've had. The facility upgrades were needed, period. He played that hand when he had the opportunity to do so. Leach hire was brilliant. The criticisms against Bill are valid for getting us into a financial challenge, but the infrastructure was needed, period. To a degree, "Joe Coug" (your average Coug fans) is the real problem. That will become more apparent in the future.

I like Pat, I like Kirk, but when the chips were down, Bill took his credibility and rebuilt WSU football from the ashes.

Pat won't be here much longer. Kirk will retire here...he's not getting booted.

Our next AD has to be a do more with less guy. I still like Mike Marlow a lot, and maybe his experience at Northern Arizona will be beneficial to steer the ship in the future.

No denying Coug fans, significant change is coming, and we need to accept it and steer the ship in the best possible direction.

But even today, it's not clear why they cut us out. Look at the President for Arizona. "Can you take all 9 of us, except Oregon St. and Washington St"?
Why? Is it because they hate playing us in Pullman? The smallest stadium in the conference? The loudest stadium in the conference? Hard to get to? Freezing in November? Why?

Yes

Prob has something to do with backroom negotiations and rubbing people the wrong way. Things said and done behind closed doors we will never know about.

I think someday we will know.

It will all be revealed in a future full length documentary movie.

Because we put up 60+ on them in 4 of our last 5 games?

Why is irrelevant. The fact that it's a real thing is all that matters and it's the biggest driver of what happens going forward

Chun and Schulz have proven to be incapable and incompetent, but Moos was fired, effectively, at two of his last three jobs and bolted for the door shortly before a financial disaster was exposed at the third, is hardly the man we want to hold up. We need to evaluate on the Sam Jankovich standard, you know Miami, from a back water to national champs in football, got us our only national championship, hired George, stolen Dennis, got us playing for a Rose Bowl birth, winning baseball, got us meaningful and affordable stadium expansion (you know the type that actually increases seating and revenues, not decreases it at a cost we can't remotely afford) on a shoe string budget.

Dick Young, Dick Dickson, Jim Livengood, Jim Sterk, Bill Moos and now Pat Chun. Absolutely no imagination or real due diligence in any of these hires. The first thing is, the guy needs to be creative, has a history of turning horse shit into a thoroughbreds or at a minimum, has a plan to extricate us for this mess, and will keep us out, that when he explains it everyone thinks wow this can really work. We all know that to win at WSU you need a coach that has some special sauce in the form of a realistic plan to overcome. We need an AD with that special sauce mindset too.

I we need AD who knows the tax code. We want "big donors" we find a way that our non-profit can shelter their money, "WSU Grand Caymans" If L Ron Hubbard can become a billionaire by claiming his snake oil is a religion, good on him. But we need an AD thinking that way for us.

Our Admin. Has been clueless throughout this whole ordeal. I think they have earned the right to be let go.

I don’t think Oregons sad about not having to see us again either. We’ve arguably been the biggest thorn in their side over the last 8 yrs outside of maybe Utah.

We owe all these F’ers a parting ass kicking. I’m not sure how good we are going to be this year, but if we’re good enough to run up the score in any of these games we absolutely should.
