Guessing it will play out in courts but “termination for cause” makes it sound like his last pay day was 10/15/21. Hoping if we get sued by him the State of Washington will be covering the costs instead of WSU.

I’m guessing a settlement will be negotiated

You can be fired for good cause or no cause at all, but you can't be fired for bad cause. Hopefully in court likely, it or other similar case, will have to be ruled on by the Supreme Court. In the end Rolo will get his money but his job is still lost.

The university is not planning to pay him, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a settlement, just to get it out of the news. Existing case law is on the university’s side campus, but the state is likely to be the lead defendant.

I don't really care if Rolo gets paid or not, he was in control of the situation and choice the course to get himself fired. The ones we should be concerned about are the players, some might have a future in football beyond college, if the team falls flat the opportunity is lost. Others had majors that will lead to careers, I hope they don't lose sight of that. They are all coping with a loss of someone they cared about, and looked up to. I get it, I had bosses fired for no reason, other than the superiors feeling threatened by the boss's brilliance. Not suggesting brilliance here, but the players are hurting and deserve our support, the focus should be in helping our student athletes through this. Rolo will be fine, it's the players I am more concerned about. The next two games will be extremely difficult, half the staff is gone, loss of position coaches, the offensive side of the ball has been decimated by this. Not easy to just plug in new coaches and to expect the same result. This team had made major steps forward in the past 3 weeks. WE learn for our experience, it will be interesting to see how the players rally together, if they do.
