Soccer

Cross your fingers and root for the soccer team. For those of you who have not been watching, I need to point out something. The team has been showing slow but steady progress throughout the season. They were good at the start of the year, but they have steadily improved. In particular, our attack has gotten better...just in the last 4-6 weeks. In the first half of the season, a lot of our attack was a long pass and a prayer. I thought it was the weakest point of our game. We may still not quite be as good in that area as we were last year, but we've gained some ground, and some aspects of our game this year are arguably better than last year. I suspect that our success going forward will be more about our match-ups with the opponent than anything else, because we are now at the point where every remaining team is good, but every remaining team does not pose the same match-up issues.

So, the Cougars are on to Ann Arbor Michigan to take on 3rd seeded Tennessee. They are 19-2. It is going to be a tough game. But, this time of year, they are all tough. Go Cougs!!!!

They dominated Montana. 18 shots to 2 I think. Montanas goalie is good too, it could have been worse, she made some spectacular saves. Other than one shot from outside the box off the post, Montana never threatened to score.

Anybody know if these post season travel expense trips figured into the Athletic budget every year, or is this Ann Arbor trip additional expenses that athletics has to incur, and not planned for?

Or....are these Third Round Playoff travel expenses paid for by NCAA? Anyone know?

From another low revenue sport, it is NCAA and the players get per diem which isn't shabby
