There a moderator any longer, at least in theory, or anyone who could be bothered to try to get rid of all this spam and to try to put some measures in place to prevent it going forward? The football forum looks completely dead and unusable at this point.

Yep, and this site is starting to collect more frequent spam. Feel free to try to get in touch with Rivals. Probably needs to be a paying subscriber, which I am not and don't know if anyone is at this point.

Ironic that the last spam is for CogniCare Pro. I think we all need to click on it and buy some. And send a bottle to Trump and Biden. And McConnell and Pelosi and all the other geezers in Washington.

There are still members that pay. You can try to send a message through the contact area and the "Customer Care Channels" link. I don't know if it will do any good, but I just did a few minutes ago.

Good on you 1990. How about also posting to or trying to otherwise contact that Matt Moreno, who just posted on the premium board a couple of days ago? I see he is on X as well, but I don't (and won't) do that platform.

Considering the apparent financial & functional reality of this site, I think if they receive reports of the problem they’re more likely to just pull the plug than to actually fix it.

Well hell I guess we all need to subscribe (or re-subscribe, as I was a paying member for years until certain kerfluffles happened). F-you Scott Hood.

So as soon as I see the banners identifying some of you as paying folk, I too will re-subscribe. And spread my wonderful and insightful Loyalness among you masses free of spam.

I dunno about that. Lots of Rivals sites are basically unused with little or no activity. I can't see them pulling the plug on WSU. Anxious to hear from anyone (1990?) who has reached out to Rivals.

Two years ago, I would have said the same thing about the Pac-12, NCAA, and CFB in general. But they've all given the cord a good hard yank.

Just to satisfy my curiosity I went over to the Cougar Lair to see how bad it was. Turns out that there are 15 pages of spam posts JUST SINCE MIDNIGHT!! Not 15 posts, 15 pages of posts. And every one of them has either 0 or 1 reply listed, although supposedly people are looking at the posts without replying. Now why do I think that the # of views listed is just as phony as the posts themselves.

Sure wish Rivals tech folks would take some action against that bot attack. If they don't, isn't it pretty likely that the bot action will spread wider and wider within the Rivals network? I sure would like to have our peaceful little community back where we could have our little family squabbles without interference. And occasionally even talk about Cougar sports a bit.

it's a disaster all right. 1990, any word back from Rivals? I suppose the Mighty and Problem-Solving Loyal One may have to re-subscribe and take this on myself.

And yeah I just looked - the # of views is quite odd.....

I find it helpful to go your filters setting and click on "replies" as the filter. That pushes all the spams WAY down. That's all I have to say about that.

Which would push all my magnificent threads down to Page 50. What horrible advice.

Yes, but it also hides any new threads about anything. I haven’t come up with a better answer though.

I’m not a tech guy, but I’d guess that rivals could shut down the bots just by adding a verification requirement to post. It would be slightly annoying, but better than what’s going on now.

Worry not, Great one...it only lasts the one time. Next time you refresh its all back to most recent, but it's a good way to find 11 page threads
well shit. I am busy drinking the exquisite Coors Light and watching all the WNBA fight it out in the All-Star gaem. Helluva game BTW. On CBS.

Tomorrow I will buck up and re-subscribe, then contact Rivals and get this shit fixed.

Some hope. I read elsewhere that Rivals is aware of the problem. Fixing it? We shall see. But since airlines can't fly due to computer glitches, I am not overly confident...........

Well....if Rivals actually looks at the board.....they might consider this board a sacrifice that they are willing to make. ;)

Like “who was the worst WSU coach ever?”

And then there could be a great argument about how bare of a cupboard Wulff inherited.

I've just set "Ignore" to about 12/15/20 ( I think that is how mik would phrase his response) of those Spam user names and now my page 1 doesn't show any spam. It's not a final solution but I'm less annoyed in the interim.

I did that when the spam started. Probably hit ignore on 50+ names, but it seems like each only gets used for a day or two. My feeds are still full
