Tanner Groves list.

Thats the STANDARD list of colleges that have OFFERED Shown interest.

NOT a list of Tanner's Favorite Top College's that he is considering.

The posted list is pretty much meaningless, except to show that Tanner is getting BIG TIME offers, and who WSU's competition is.

I do think Tanner stays west coast.

So I think Stanford, WSU, Texas, West Coast teams will probably make Tanners list, that Tanner would probably attend.

The non West Coast Teams probably dont have a good chance to get Tanner

So Stanford, WSU, Cal, Texas, BYU, Nevada is probably where Tanner will probably end up.

The others probably need not even apply, offer

That list was tweeted by Tanner Groves.

That’s not exactly meaningless.

I stand corrected. It looked like the Standard Rivals list of Colleges interested in Tanner, and didnt look like a list of colleges that Tanner was interested in.

Thanks for correcting me.

WSU needs to land this guy. Could turn us into a tourney team overnight.

If the Cougs take both Groves' boys, I think there is a possibility they end up in Pullman.

If just Tanner only, he should seek his best chance to win a national championship/deep run in the tourney. Much as Kyle Smith is turning things around, he's not got the program at that point yet.

How is that no one other than EWU offered Tanner out of high school? I realize Ernie wasn't spending 1 second of his time up in Spokane, but I would think OSU or UW may have taken notice.

He wasn’t anywhere near good enough coming out of high school. He barely played at EWU his first 2 years. He played less than 10 minutes a game and scored less than 6 points a game . First year less than 3 points a game. He has obviously taken advantage of the opertunity given him and worked very hard now he gets to reap the rewards!! Good for him.

While I understand the sentiment, and how good he is, and how want either Tanner or Eason, what will determine how good WSU is or whether make NCAA is:

1. PG. Either Koulibaly or Tyrell Roberts or Green or Rice needs to be a good Pure PG.

2. Coaching

3. Efe and Dischon and Bamba, etc, continuing to improve.

Those things happen, and WSU will be, is, should be either a NIT or NCAA tourny, 17 to 21 win team.

Add Tanner or Eason to that and WSU would be 20 to 24 wins, 2nd round, Sweet 16 of NCAA tourny.

But add Tanner and take away PG, and WSU would be 14,15,16 wins, CBI/NIT.

Also Efe, Dischon Jackson, are, or will be as good as Tanner, Eason.

So while it would be a nice added bonus to get either Tanner or Eason, its not a MUST to get either a Tanner, Eason or Some other semi comparable Big Man.

WSU already has Vova, Dischon, Efe, AJ, etc, which shoukd be sufficient, barring injuries, and provided WSU has a good PG.

IF Koulibaly, Tyrell Roberts, etc, is a GOOD PG(Very Likely), and IF Efe and Dischon and Bamba continue to improve, play well(Very likely), and if get either Tanner or Eason, WSU would win 19 to 23 games in Reg season, 11-7 in conference, win 2,3 Pac 12 Tourny games, and should, probably would make it to the 2nd Round, Sweet 16, Elite Eight.

So because of that Tanner would be joining a team that would, could, should make a run in the NCAA Tourny.

WSU is either Almost THERE, or IS THERE, or is CLOSER to THERE then you, others think, realize.

Tanner Groves wasn't Tanner Groves as a junior/senior in high school. He was a very good high school player but there was a full compliment of players in the GSL just as solid. As stated, I coached against him a half dozen times. EWU was a good offer for him.

He's worked his ass off to become the player he is today.

Ernie was a clown. Good riddance.

Offer the younger brother too.

Put the mom on the medical school payroll; dad at branch campus.

Then offer to pay for Joe Albi upgrades so they can move the 2022 Apple Cup there also.

Maybe Tanner will look at WSU and his brother will stay at EWU and the parents will be able to still see both boys play fairly easily.
