Could the offensive line be that bad? I’m not making excuses for him, but there’s clearly something really off up front.
The offensive line is bad, but Morris isn't helping them. At all. And if you think McGuire is gonna give them the technique to compensate for talent and experience deficiencies, I don't really know what to tell you
Yeah I think our defense is pretty good. Not great but good. Also imagine if the offense sustained some drives. They'd be better. Offense is under 20 points 3 weeks in a row. Brutal.
We just played the 8th game of the season. A good OC identifies by now what his team can do, and game plans accordingly. He hasn’t.
The dumb penalties. The dropped passes. Special teams messing up every time they’re involved in the game. Running out of bounds on third and long. Cam ward throwing it away when he has a lead and should be burning the clock (see Oregon game) and Taking sacks when the clock is working against us or running out of bounds on 4th down. Receivers running backwards on fourth down. Having literally zero run game. The list goes on. This is either worse than when Wulff was here or we are headed there fast.

I was there for my undergrad 2007-2011 and then another 4 years for my doctor of pharmacy. Never missed a home game. Gtfo.

You said it was the worst coached team you’d ever seen (in 2 threads). If you were there for the Wulff years, I’d say your initial statement was incorrect. The Wulff years were significantly worse.
And, since the definition is “worst,” yes…that’s my measuring stick.

Wulff was dealing with a bare cupboard as a result of the Doba years.
Dickert [& Rolo] inherited players and were able to recruit to a brand of Cougar football with a reputation of success from the Leach years.
if you’re going to compare the two, tell the whole story.
Dickert is doing less with more, and if he keeps this up, we may end up in a worse situation Wulff found himself in when he moved down from Cheney.

These are JV coaches. Dickert isnt ready to be a head coach. If he was, he would have fired Morris and used the bye week to move on. He didn’t. Does he put his big bawlz on and be a head coach this week? Or does he fail, again, to be a head coach and do what’s best for the program?
As for Chun, how many ADs get to hire a third head football coach? If Dickert f’cks this up, which he is doing, Chun will take the next job offered.

Wulff left the cupboard more empty then Doba. The previous HC didn't recruit jack, he literally quit recruiting.
The OL being this bad is a major problem and is going to take years to fix. That is depressing.
Same record 4-4 as last year, but we had more conference wins and 3 more wins to look forward to. NIL money needs to be spent on protecting the quarterback. Can't have too many positive options there.

Were you around for the Wulff era, any of Price's 3 win seasons, or Rolovich's first year?
I agree with a lot that has been posted here, but let’s not forget that the Cougs have lost to basically the top 3 teams in the PAC-12. Utah, OR & sc. along with OSU, who is no slouch. I see this team winning 3 of there last 4 games, maybe all 4. That said, this offense sucks big time. The O line is horrible and can’t pass OR run block. (At least Leach’s teams could pass block). At the minimum the O line coach needs to go, as there has been no improvement as the season goes on. Cam has no time to throw, so we are seeing our offense turn to the Wr bubble screen as about 1/3rd of our offense. Too bad opposing defenses know this and now half the time these screens are good for minus 2 or 3 yards. So while I’m not ready to give up on this team because of our defense

Tough teams, weak teams, doesn’t matter. You have to win. There are no easy wins now, nor has there ever really been for WSU. This is not a school where you can coach poorly and still win games. At this point, Dickert is either coaching it or allowing it to happen. Time to make a decision and hold coaches accountable for poor performance.
Geez, Wulff inherited 15 returning starters, including a NFL running back and receiver off a 5-7 team, and then right out of the box lost to Cal 66-3 at home, a team we lost to the year before 20-17 in Berkeley. Doba left mediocre talent, granted, but Wulff turned mediocre into the worst team in school history by a country mile, out scored 453-77 in Pac-12 play, or 50-8 on average or by 6 TDs per game.
As for "more with less," have you bothered to actually look at the roster. Dickert, inherited two WRs from the Leach era, in Bell and Ollie. two OLs, Gomness, Kingston, one RB, Brazil and Zero QBs.
The question that needs to be asked is where did all the Leach era recruits on offense go, and why? Well we know the answer to that, it is two quick coaching changes combine with the portal.
That is why old timers respect what Walden accomplishing. He inherited steaming pile of "coaching change" horshite created by the Sweeney, Powers, Sherrill carousel.

You need to stop. You would have fired Price in 1990. Fired Erickson or his coordinator in 87. Your expectations are out of whack.
Even Leach gave Breske two plus years. 10 months is not enough to evaluate someone's performance. You can pretend it takes big balls to fire someone, it takes bigger ones not to.

Erickson could have moved rosie to defense and instilled I guess Gossen. But he knew what he could make of a raw QB.
You need to stfu. He didnt get that job because his offense, that produced 41 touchdowns in 13 games, was awesome. He was on his way to being fired.
