There is no Hercules to wreak havoc in the backfield. There are no playmakers on that side of the ball.

Taylor has regressed, I would say the same with Rodgers . Actually the entire dline. With the holes created in dline recruiting from 15 on really point to a huge problem. They can’t stop the run .

Five plays last night and we probably have a different outcome. 1) The pick 2) the second pick although I think they scored soon thereafter 3) the bad snap to start the second half 4) pissing away timeouts 5) not kicking it into the endzone at the end of the game, 6) Harris running out of bounds 7) on the long pass at end of game the receiver was primed to get the ball punched out from behind .

We just don’t have playmakers on defense to make THE play.

I must say two loses we’re got really conservative on defense . I am not sure either person is ready to make in game calls.

Rushing three and letting Herbert to stand in the pocket and pick apart our defense .

At this point we really have a four man line with Taylor being a stand up end . I think they may want to look in the future going to a Bill Doba four man front . People are starting to get how to attack our stemming and we don’t get our line in the back field as they use to.

On a really positive side is they hung in with a top ten team on the road. They played hard. That is something that can be built upon.

Good post ED. We could win our last 4 games or lose them all, razor thin margin of error for this team. Hopefully we win at least 2 and make it to a bowl.

I came away encouraged after last nights game. We don’t have a strong team this season, but we were competitive at halftime at Utah and played Oregon even on the road.

If our program has slipped this season, it hasn’t slipped much. Finishing strong with 7 or 8 wins would be a solid accomplishment.

Oh it has slipped, but primarily between the ears. Put Thompson, Pelluer, Dale, and Minshew on this team and it's undefeated. To me that's mostly on the coaches. I'm not calling for heads yet, but I don't see anything from our back 7 on defense that gives me any confidence in the guys coaching those positions.

Will Rodgers played pretty well yesterday. Hobbes too. As did Stone.

Hobbs had a play where he showed a flash. He blue up a play headed around the left end. But hard to say when a back gets 247 yards against a team the dline played well.

The way I see it, our program is still among the best in the conference. As long as we retain Leach, we’ll have an elite offense and a program that is very well organized and managed.

The defense is a bit of a mess right now, but it doesn’t take long to turn that side of the ball around. Oregon was a disaster defensively a couple of years ago, as were we before Grinch was hired.

If Leach makes a good DC hire, and there’s no reason to think he won’t, we’ll be back on track. This is the worst team we’ve had in several years, and we still have a shot at winning 7-8 games.
