They put CML in their HOF, yet weren't they the school that got him blackballed from coaching, supported CJK5H allegations and basically threw him under the bus the backed up over him?

Yes, I realize it was boosters and CJK5H mostly, but the school sure as hell didn't come to his defense.

Am I remembering this correctly?

I dunno, but I'm sure his induction happened after TT purged the guilty parties.

Here's a strange article Link below). It's written from a DeLorean, as here on Friday it speaks of his induction and family-present honoring at tomorrow's game.

And why have we heard nothing about the family being on hand for all this? Another colossal flub job by Anne McCoy and the AD, and WSU in general.

One of my best friends is a Tech grad. When we hired Leach, he told me that I'd love him, I'd hate him, but it would never be dull.

His take was that the university president was out to get him. The alums by and large supported him. CJK5H was of course a flash point.

Was Schulzie a fan of Coach Leach?

The Pirate's outspokenness might have gotten him on the wrong side of the administration.

Can't remember the details, but there was a video on YouTube CML shared that some people didn't like. John Blanchet might've written about it

People didn’t like that he introduced Trump in Spokane.

Blanchette didn’t like that Leach told the truth.

WTF does this have to do with anything? Leach is getting inducted to the WSU Athletic HOF tonight as we post. Were there invites to fans? Did we sell tickets? Make it a fundraiser? Create a Mike Leach FB sholarship fund in remembrance of him? Did we do a Goddam thing? No, no and no.

The point at hand is the utter failure by the WSU Athletic Dept, led by woefully incompetent Anne McCoy, to make this a major goddam PR push and event at a time when we need it the most.

Edit - you can't even find a mention on the WSU Athletics or main websites. How can you F this up so bad?

You're seeing this occasion as an opportunity to generate enthusiam and revenue for WSU.

But PKS and AD McCou may just want to get the "CML Tribute" over and done with for the aforementioned reasons. Not everyone liked Coach Leach

After he got his system and players in, nothing but love from me.

His stubborn bullshit in the first 3 years, fighting with Halliday, punishing the team with poor game management... yeah, f that. And yes, I do think he did that bullshit to punish the team - all those bad game management decisions suddenly disappear like year 3 or 4. Hmmm...

What? He is beloved by the WSU fanbase and former players. You mention the POS John "hatchet" Blanchette as some sort of point of reference? That Motherf-er is the most hated sports "reporter" in Cougar history. And much as I barfed when I read that Leach introduced Trump, that's not an issue 8 years later. We all make mistakes. Leach is a legend.

Sometimes you just kill me buddy. I like you, but Geezus.

Sometimes people in the media and academia see things differently.

Maybe CML wasn't beloved by the WSU administration and athletic department?

What other reason to go low-key with any tributes or promotions tied to the Pirate?

Because WSU and its AD are idiots. Has that not been spelled out clearly enough? Do I have to write it in crayon for you? The rest of the FB world is buzzing about this game. You didn't actually attend WSU did you Pete?

Didn't have the transcript, test scores or resources to attend a major university
OK buddy. Sorry I even asked. I'll quit picking on you, plenty of others who deserve it more. :) The always Benevolent and Accepting Loyal One will help lead you along the path of Cougness.

Actually WSU had a pretty prolonged tribute to CML at the Wisconsin game last year, which was the first season after his death. I was at the game, and I can say the response by the fans was tepid. They showed a video with a lot of his famous quotes and highlights and there was some light applause within the alumni section but most people seemed pretty disinterested. The reality is that WSU rehabilitated his reputation and he left for a bigger paycheck. He absolutely rebuilt the program but he had a little problem with the first game of the season, 7 consecutive AC losses and a pretty lackluster bowl record. At this point he was two coaches ago and all of the students that were at Pullman then have graduated. Its nice that you are carrying this torch for him, but most everyone else has moved on.
