My hope is this is a sign the conference is finally doing something about it. Were any of these guys involved with the USC "home cooking" that seems to be prevalent? Plenty of refs, even at the high school level, that likely can do a better job.

You can find 5 refs in the GSL with better judgement than Pac 10/12 referees.

You could probably find 5 college quality officials working in the GSL. But for a lot of the guys I see, I'd be worried about their physical fitness to actually work a college game.
