A 6'4 -214 SG/SF from USF is considering the cougs. However their s a long list of suitors. WSU ,TCU Memphis,UNLV, and many others are seeking his signature. He averaged 9.2 pts and shot 43% from the 3 pt line. Not sure if he will visit or not . The end of the signing date is 5/18 i believe?

At this point in the recruiting process this would probably be a good option. He is probably not quite as good as Que but closer than any freshmen still available would probably be. Might give us a little more rebounding from the wing which would be nice and hopefully more energy. As a grad transfer he only has one year which makes it more suited for our needs, because I think coach was probably recruiting for next year to replace Que.

If he can play a lick of defense,he would be better than Q and a far more consistent outside shot

I would rather Que and Izundu returned even with the negatives but picking up Ofoegbu and Goldman late in the game would be good gets. They aren't going to transform us into a Tournament team but right now it's just about going into next season with some hope.

i would like Izundu back bot Que s lack of consistency and his matador defense are not going to be missed

Que never lived up to his hype but he was probably the only guy on the roster capable of having a Klay-like outside shooting performance any given game. You are right about his matador defense, but he's not the only one on this team with that tendency. As bad as Que was, I thought King was worse on defense. Of course, he is a year younger.

If Que breaks out at Western Kentucky, which wouldn't surprise me, most of us will wish he had stuck it out at WSU.

Glad Cougar

King was worse but hopefully it's something that will come year 2.

King was basically a freshman in experience. Less than one half season of jc. That doesn't mean he becomes a good defender but he has more length and quickness than Que.

My observation of King was that he wasn't motivated to play defense, not that he physically couldn't. Maybe that's inexperience, but it could also be more desire on the offensive side than defensive side. So it's going to have to be a change of mindset by the player and a point of emphasis by the coaching staff.

To me King looked lost a lot of the time on defense and with a lot of young players they haven't been asked, needed, required to defend during their career. Not only was King young in terms of experience he also was coming off a broken leg. We need him to improve his entire game on both ends of the court and hopefully we get some additional experienced competition out on the wing.

Uche has narrowed his list to Ga Tech,UNLV,Miami ,and the cougs. He has taken all of his visits and will soon make his choice. The clueless pundits on the other board had given him a 50-1 chance of ending up with the cougs. Miami and UNLV have the advantage in a flashy environment so the odds should still be about 10-1 against Kent landing him.

It looks like he picked UNLV The new coach is a sooth talker and he has to almost recruit a new team The glitz of Las Vegas is a powerful recruiting tool

I guess the clueless pundits were right after all. There was a time when Ernie was the smooth talker, back in his UO days. Sure would like to see him regain that recruiting prowess. In all honesty, I'm somewhat pleased with the group of freshmen he has pulled together but we'll just have to see how they pan out. He also needs an even better class for 2017.

Glad Cougar

WSU apparently had 3 on campus yesterday including 'Biggie' Goldman. I don't know how Goldman will turn out but would really like him to go Crimson. I think he will end up a solid late addition in the right program and he's a good fit for Kent.

So who were the other two players? Perhaps Kent, the smooth talker, wanted them more than he wanted Goldman at this time? Some how Goldman just never gets that coveted D 1 offer I think that he has a big upside but i do not know the other players Kent is considering at this time
