Couldn't make enough stops (obviously) but many were shots they can make down the stretch. Listened to Ernie after the game. I don't often but he made the point that Franks and Flynn need to step up in toughness. I especially agree with Franks. We haven't seen his best basketball yet.
Walton: "Flynn for 3. That was a tough shot. Greatest shot I have seen from him."
Bernstein: "Have you seen him before?"
Walton: "Saw him 2 years ago."
Bernstein" "Flynn's a sophomore."
He's annoying but at least he's having a good time even if it is at the expense of the actual game.
The only real positive was the play of Milan. I wonder if Bersteine s " tweaked knee" is the end of his coug career?
Calling it a sprain on Bernstein. Franks has been soft the last 4 games. Flynn also last night, but most of the season he has been a gamer even when his shots weren't dropping.
Skaggs may have the quickest release and square up of any shooter I have seen.
Acquaah knocking down a couple of jumpers last night may be huge for his development. I know he is a much better shooter than we saw earlier in the year.

I thought there was good effort the entire game. Listening to Walton is painful. Don't know why the don't sync the radio broadcast to the tv broadcast. Technology is certainly there.
Franks had a great stat line but was never really a factor in the game. That seemed to me anyway to a very quite 20 pt 8 reb game. Acquaah made some shots which is important in his continued development but still to many turnovers and the offense doesn’t seem to flow when he is in the game. Pollard played possibly his best game as a cougar and I thought Chidom played well he just needs to get stronger. I thought Cooper could at least take some fouls away from our post players this year but I don’t see him getting much playing time unless Drick is out for good and even then there isn’t much there for this year.
The question always is "why does the team not start the game that way?"In basketball, players always try to intimidate their opponent. So why do the cougs seemingly always try to start with their heads bowed? They do need a take charge leader who verbally kicks their behinds, when they start that way.Flynn is just not a take charge guy at this point.
I have mixed emotions about the slow starts. Not that I like seeing us get 15 or 20 down, but I use to get so sick of Sampson's teams leaving it all on the floor the first half, and blowing double digit leads the second half. Seems like the best teams have another gear they can hit the second half, especially on d. Again not saying I like the slow starts.
