I believe Bennett already told them no, and why in the hell would he want to do that anyway? UCLA does not have the where-with-all, the panache, if you will, to command a top-tier hire anymore. They should have stuck with their last decent coach--Howland.

I read this morning that St. Johns and Chris Mullen are parting ways....and their top target is Bobby Hurley at ASU. Could be yet another Pac-12 school will need to find a new coach.

The Big East ain’t what it used to be and St Js isn’t top flight in that league. Unless he wants to live in NYC that seems like a lateral move at best.

Reading more from reddit the past few weeks, I think Cronin has had his issues with the AD at Cincy. He's originally from there, that's his ala mater.

I'm imagining UCLA fans aren't probably loving this hire.

The way UCLA went about hiring a coach was laughable. Fire Alford New Year's eve. Offer Calipari but for less than what he was making at Kentucky. Then offer Dixon but not be able to pay his $8M buyout. I don't know how UCLA AD Dan Guerrero still has a job.

Will agree there. Apparently his recruiting and coaching management were in question, but that team will not be soft.

Guerrero has something on the President cause he may preside over the biggest waste of human resources in the NCAA.
