Is playing so well that he’s starting to pop up in all of the NBA mock drafts. I’ve seen him going as high as 30th.

Yep, but I'd rather have that problem than him not being good enough to get in those discussions, in which case, WSU probably wins only a couple of conference games all year.

Glad Cougar

Without question. CJ is a recruiting nugget for us. He’s having one of the best seasons in our history. That said, the roster is a mess next season without him and Pollard. Smith has his work cut out for him.

Schools use NBA players as recruiting tools to say to a recruit that they can reach their dream of making it to the NBA by attending their school. With Klay, and even Aron Baynes, CJ making it to the NBA will help with recruiting.

I would love to have CJ at WSU but good point 1990.

Yeah, I would love for CJ to stay at WSU for three years like Klay. But, CJ's dream has always been to play in the NBA. I would say it is more than 50% that he is gone. But, at least it can be a recruiting tool and it is one more thing that eliminates the negative recruiting against Pullman.

Speaking of recruiting, I wonder how the Jefferson Koulibaly visit went? Hopefully, he gave a commitment this weekend.

Elleby and Pollard will be huge losses and will be hard to replace! But I hardly think the roster next year is a mess. Bonton will be back he has had bad games and great games next year hopefully he can be more consistent, Kunc will be back stronger and more improved, Cannon has dealt with injuries but we have all seen what he can do, Williams has had a very productive freshmen year, Miller has been injured but has had some great games, Rodman doesn’t wow you but doesn’t hurt you either and is a freshmen, Rapp and the big fella have both played enough minutes to show some potential. Add to that the incoming class and I think the roster is far from a mess.

I like Bonton, and I hate being critical of college kids, but his game is that of a JC player. I would love it if we can find someone else to run the point next season. Bonton can come off the bench and add quality depth, but he's not a starting P12 point guard.

All of the names you mentioned are good depth guys, but without CJ on the floor, we can't do anything. ANYTHING. Outside of Williams, who I think will develop into an outstanding player, I haven't seen anything from our returning guys that suggests they'll be anything more than supporting players.

Agree and not sure pollard gonna be that big of a loss. He’s not bad on defense but he’s got stone hands and is a terrible finisher. Always hurts to lose a guy like Elleby but Bonton and Williams are pretty good 1-2 punch and KS seems to be damn good at developing and building team chemistry.

At least three-fourths of Pollard's dropped entry balls are a direct result of awful deliveries from Bonton.

Pollard shoots over 50% from the field which includes 42 shots from 3 pt land where he only shoots 24%. I hope he continues to struggle finishing at the rim

K I’ll admit I haven’t watched a ton of games so probably have undervalued his defense/rebounding. And I’ll say there were a few tough ones from Bonton Sunday. But he had SEVERAL good passes clang off his hands in the Klay game, at least a couple decent ones Sunday, and several passes that put him right under the rim that he couldn’t finish. He’s not good at all offensively other than a few ORs, and it sticks out because they have no other big men that can score.

Devil's advocate here pointing out Pollard's non three point shooting is basically lay ups and he misses a ton of shots from inside. You also can't miss shots when the pass bounces off your hands.

Klay stayed because he was advised that he hadnt shown a good floor game through his first 2 seasons.
